PVP WQ question
I have recently been doing PVP world quests for the marks of honor to get more gear for transmog and it got me thinking because when I am there I only see Alliance so what are these like on actual PVP realms are they more camped by the other side as opposed to PVE where no one cares cept those who just want free honor and artifact power.

Re: PVP WQ question
I've wondered that myself. I'm on a PVE realm, but the towers occasionally has a cheeky shaman trying to thunderstorm people off or a rogue trying to hide. The timeworn strand is the worst though, even on a PVE realm, I can't imagine that being normal life for every open world thing people do.

Re: PVP WQ question
Operation: Murloc Freedom is indeed the worst, presumably because the mobs that give count take so long to respawn and give so little progress. That is also pretty much what it's like to be the minority faction on a PvP server in... well, in any area that's populated and popular. You might get some leeway at the very start of an expansion or a rush on patch content because the people who enjoy making other people's lives difficult need to "get ahead" before they can hang back and mess with other people, but once they turn on CRZ on the Broken Shore, good luck doing anything.
Once the content is old enough that people have gotten what they want out of it, you're likely to be mostly left alone again, like when Operation: Murloc Freedom only has a few people at it instead of like, twenty. There's a reason the alts that didn't make the monetary cut to get transferred when my guild died literally only ever log on to instacomplete world quests, and it's because living with that constant knowledge of danger is no fun at all :(

Re: PVP WQ question
Murloc Freedom isn't as bad as it was a while back. They seem to have fixed the respawn issue, so the naga and the two bosses respawn a lot more quickly than they used to. I've no way of knowing, but they may be giving more progress, too. It seems to go a lot more quickly, so long as there aren't more than 4 or 5 other players trying to do it.
Now if only Blizzard would fix it so that the one FFA I still need for the achievement would pop up during the afternoon/evening. Darkbrul seems to only pop after 11 pm or early in the morning on the east coast. That means I can only do it on weekends.

Re: PVP WQ question
For my realm (it's PvE) it's Blackrook that's the worst.

Re: PVP WQ question
On my realm (Magtheridon), people tend to avoid each other in all PvP WQs but Blackrook. Coincidentally, that's the one I don't do unless I am in a mood to enter crazily imbalanced all versus all for unknown period of time.
Thankfully, I don't have that mood a lot. 500 honor is not worth the nerves

Re: PVP WQ question
Not being into PVP I tend to stay away from the FFA ones though at times I will do the animal one in Stormheim even then I hardly see anyone and if I do I wait till they leave to continue I mostly am doing the towers which is nice not seeing any enemy players.
It is interesting seeing the different experiences you all are having in these areas.

Re: PVP WQ question
On my realm, Blackrook is usually the worst one to get done. If you get lucky and nobody else is there, you can tear through the 10 npc's really quickly. Actually, it's not unheard of for folks to stand in the 'bleachers' and wait their turn to go after the npc's. Unfortunately, the most common occurence is for someone to get impatient and jump down, which often leads to things dragging out forever. I've not gotten into any organized PvP this expansion, so the WQ's are pretty much the only way I'm getting honor. If there's a big ol mob at Blackrook, I'll just skip it for the day.Shelassa wrote:On my realm (Magtheridon), people tend to avoid each other in all PvP WQs but Blackrook. Re: PVP WQ question
I can relate. Lately, there have been numerous farm groups at Blackrook, usually guild buddies, so I tend to skip it altogether and not even check for how many people stand around anymore. There are more fun things out there than being repeatedly one-shotted during WQsBoven wrote:I've not gotten into any organized PvP this expansion, so the WQ's are pretty much the only way I'm getting honor. With the exception of Blackrook and few weird Murloc Freedoms, I've been very pleasantly surprised at how chill people are during PvP quests. I've actually been more frequently attacked by my own faction over the Alliance, and it is not because of the lack of 'enemy' players.
Re: PVP WQ question
Yeah, Black Rook and Murloc Freedom seem to be the ones that bring out the worst in folks. Murloc Freedom has been better, I think, since they 'fixed' it a while back. Bearback is usually fast and easy. For a few weeks there was a group on my server who just went there and ran around killing players for hours, just to be jerks. I rarely see Darkbrul up (still need 5 more for the achievement) but folks're usually pretty chill in there. One thing I did discover was that nobody seems to land on the bridges. That means I can fly in and get two 'free' kills from the mobs that wander back and forth on them before I jump down to the arena proper.Shelassa wrote:

Re: PVP WQ question
Been getting little more brave at doing these mostly cause I want the prestige horses but still the same at the towers whenever I go all I see is green which is Alliance as for the FFA ones I have done bareback and murloc ones haven't been killed yet though I do have a bit of strategy where I hug the outer border flying alongside it watching for anyone to be in the area I am in.
Almost to prestige one then got to get to four for one horse at least these horses aren't going anywhere since not tied to PVP seasons.

I usually go to a group. MG is like, 2.2:1 A:H (are the gnomes the .2...?), so going alone as Horde is super silly.

Re: PVP WQ question
This isn't OT but in case anyone doesn't realize, you can get bonus Honor from the tower WQs if you have your guild standard down when you deal the final blow. For this reason I almost always save the captain till last now, because it's the easiest way to control when you should put your standard down - if I'm in the middle of killing trash when the quest completes I often forget until too late.
I'm not PvP and I never see opposite faction there. The only problems have been the odd occasion when same-faction players are using those stupid freaking Talons and griefing players they know aren't seasoned PvPers for easy credits. There's a special level of Molten Core reserved for the person who designed those things

Re: PVP WQ question
Guess on Moan Guard no one does the talon thing or they use their talons in Pornshire cause when I am at the towers I only see green attacking the NPCs which is why I like the towers as for where those should go maybe send them to Garrosh and Gul'dan as well.Wain wrote:I'm not PvP and I never see opposite faction there. Some do. They like to hop on corpses while I loot, but it's like dude. I have fetch. And combat/tidy plates on.

Re: PVP WQ question
The ivory talon has nothing to do with you accidentally clicking. It's people being able to murder their own faction at PVP towers because you're already flagged. Doesn't matter if you want to fight them or not, they can attack you as soon as you're flagged, which automatically happens as you do the PVP WQ.Novikova wrote:Some do. Nice that some of you don't have this issue on your server, I'm on a low pop PVE server and still get ganked at least once a day.

Damn, the expansion's basically over (exaggeration, but still) and I only learn about it now! Thanks, Wain, gonna try it out when I get homeWain wrote:This isn't OT but in case anyone doesn't realize, you can get bonus Honor from the tower WQs if you have your guild standard down when you deal the final blow. PvP WQ-wise, my server suddenly has a bazillion gankers or even gank groups, usually consisting of 2-3 guildies with their summoned bodyguards. Before I rarely had to fight other players to finish those, now I rarely get to kill just the mobs without having to fight back (mostly, Horde, though. Much disappointment ).

Re: PVP WQ question
Pardon me for double-posting, but... Wain, does the method work only for Warden Towers or for all PvP WQs? (Murlocs, Bareback Brawl, etc.) Still haven't been home to try it out lolWain wrote:you can get bonus Honor from the tower WQs
Re: PVP WQ question
I'm actually not sure I tend to forget about it on the latter. They always complete when I'm least expecting itShelassa wrote:Pardon me for double-posting, but... Re: PVP WQ question
It's understandable, they tend to be more hectic, especially with an actual PvP going on Thanks, still. I will check it out later today or tomorrow and report on it
