Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Battle for Azeroth looks to be a great expansion not only for new creature models, but also updates of older ones. My focus, currently, is squarely focused on those four new Silithid models, but the blur of Battle for Azeroth's looming new additions definitely has me excited as well.
But no, of course I don't mind at all!
Too good.
I'm going to be painfully honest. These screenshots, that I pretty much stole from videos on YouTube. I'm going to have you reward me handsomely for their use.Wain wrote:Wow, thanks Qraljar! Those are very nicely spotted. I really need to get a BfA speculation page up and running. Mind if I use some shots from here if I do?
Those models look beautiful. I especially like the true-to-form vulture update. It’s great gorillas are finally getting some love, though the clumped hair makes it look like some got stuck in their fur. Sorry, I probably shouldn’t have said that.

That dark, stormy night when you sit, browsing the WoWhead and MMO-Champion homepage, and suddenly you find that a bunch of new creature models have been datamined from the expansion alpha/beta you didn't even know had started yet.Vephriel wrote:Same, I am chomping at the bit to see all the new datamined models. Legion beta started in May last year I believe? I hope we don't have to wait that long.. D:Qraljar wrote:
Can't wait until beta arrives to see the new models properly, haha.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
It might be not so very relevant right now, but I've been calling those new six-legged bug creatures "Isopods", when I just realized, they're really more like trilobites..
Cheirurus sp.
It's just a shame they don't have the same amount of legs, because that would've been cool. I guess that six is the max on Azeroth. (and also that allows them to reuse the crocolisk skeleton)

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
One little detail I noticed with the alpha datamining today - it seems there's 2 new colours for the raven minipet, and I can only assume that means the raven model in general. A proper black and an albino! I hope we see them as tameable creatures too. (the original is very pretty, but it's also very blue compared to a real raven. I'd be very happy with a nice black version!)

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Most if not all mobs have somesort of internal classification, which is probably what the Wendigo and Bee thing is. Now, if they were listed as Pet Families, then that would be a different story. Though it looks like the speculators were right as to why Blizz randomly updated the Wendigo model.
I can't see a Bee family really happening, seeing as many beasts in the Wasp family are very similar in function.

Wendigos are the Yetis that you find in Dun Morogh and Feralas.
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Yeah, I don't know if the term has ever been used in the game, but the model is called 'wendigo' so this could refer to them. But it's weird because those yetis have already had a couple of model updates and it seems odd to do yet another so soon :/Valnaaros wrote:Wendigos are the Yetis that you find in Dun Morogh and Feralas.

Those komodo dragons NEED to be tameable.
And they come in like 12 colors.
