I've actually been pondering since last night if the stone version weren't some kinda bad juju mogu shiznit going on.Wain wrote:I'm really hoping for stone direhorns, too! The Zandalari rode them in MoP and they had to come from somewhere
A few of the new creature models have been given stone skin variants, which makes me wonder if there's a specific plan for them. If so, hopefully we'll see the direhorns there.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Good point, Thwip. As far as I've seen, there hasn't been any stone Direhorns seen on Zandalar. If there truly isn't any at all, then it may have been a Mogu creation.
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I'm a bit late to the party but... pls this. Omg. The new fluffy tarantula is so good.Qraljar wrote:Oh yeah, BfA adds at least one new tarantula coloration that isn't used on a currently available tarantula.
It's a bit more on the red side, rather than the orange or dark brown of the two existing ones.
I hope they make many more patterns and colorations, though.
Just look at what nature has to offer:
They could certainly go all-out, in fact, they could go just as crazy as they did with the komodo model, if they want!
Also, I know you guys were talking about stone direhorns, but has anyone seen regular ol' direhorns on Zandalar anywhere? I'd love to see some more colour variants in the direhorns in general (although the stone direhorns would be rad).
I'm still really hoping we'll get to tame some armored dinos as well:
These have been on my wishlist for ever.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I think I saw regular Direhorns in some videos, but no stone ones. Unfortunately, no new direhorn colors as far as I have seen
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I don´t know if anyone has seen it, but since they all have the same model, which may just serve as placeholders, I think there will be new spirit beasts

It's possible, though those are unusual names for Spirit Beasts, unless the names are also placeholders. Seems like those would all be cats that would belong to the crazy cat lady in Boralus.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Good point, Gorman. Sometimes battle pets will have creature types (humanoid, aberration, dragon, etc) or pet families assigned to them.

Ye, you're right. i really think the names are also placeholders.
Or at least I hope so, please no spirit beast cats anymore D: unless it's a completely new model, then it's okay ;D but only one!
Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
While those sound like cat names, really they could be anything with the right sense of humor. If Mrs. Fluffymuffins is a tarantula spiritbeast I'm going to laugh myself sick.Aroim wrote:I don´t know if anyone has seen it, but since they all have the same model, which may just serve as placeholders, I think there will be new spirit beasts

Sound like kitties. Maybe it's those new cat models? I still hope they'll let us tame the unicorns.

They all currently use the manasaber cub model, though that is probably just temporary.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I hope one of those spirit beasts is a sheep. I recently got the Arcane Mage hidden artifact skin, and I am having too much fun polymorphing everything in the hopes of seeing the sheep head come to life again.

Now I want a tarantula spirit beast so I can name it that.Sidonwy wrote:While those sound like cat names, really they could be anything with the right sense of humor. Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
Someone said tarantula spirit beast and I have been summoned!
(no but really more unorthodox SBs would be fantastic to see <3)

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I agree, more diverse spirit beasts would be amazing! I'd love to see a windserpent one, all iridescent like Gon. And yes, having the unicorns tameable would be a great, long-awaited addition. Dare we hope-- unicorn spiritbeast? >>
Maybe I'm getting too starry eyed now.

They've certainly went down the road of nonstandard SB this xpac. Moose, fox, raptor, and gryphon. I hope they continue! Wind serpent, devilsaur, tarantula, scythehorn!

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
I think it was always a matter of when, not if, in regards to nonstandard Spirit Beasts. I'm glad they finally made some in Legion, and I'm sure that it will continue in BfA

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
This will also be posted in the mount thread, but this new core hound could eventually become a tamable beast

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures
That Core Hound is just stupid. Who thought that was okay? It's just a Core Hound's head plastered on to what I think is a Ram's skeleton or the Demon Dog (like the rune dogs) skeleton. That's just ridiculous. Here I was, hoping for a more amazing Core Hound mount to add to the collection, but now I'm just sad.
