[Suggestion] Glyph of Animal Companion

Unread post by pop »

Glyph of Animal Companion
Spell: Animal Companion
Instead of summoning the first pet in your stable slot, your animal companion would be always the same as your current active pet.

yeah, THIS I would go for. I always match my pets.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

I think this would be a really great option to have, and easy to implement.

That would be a wonderful option to have, as I know lots of people like matching pets, and now there is the potential to do so without one of them having a distracting lightning effect and being named Hati

I didn't notice last time I logged on to the beta... does that 2nd pet keep its original name (ie: you named it "Fred", it shows up as "Fred") or does it get some sort of generic "companion beast" or "species name"?

It has the name that you gave it.

My best friend is running around with Thor and Loki right now, much to my repeated facepalm.

Ok, so there MIGHT be an advantage to actually taming two of a certain pet then, in the sense that you can name them as you want (wasn't that a long-asked-for feature for Hati?).

It WILL be a nuisance, still, for those hard-to-tame or very rare ones.

That's correct. There are no glyphs that can be applied to a talent. Instead of a glyph, a toy or item would probably be a better option.

There's some dire beast glyphs, and dire beast is becoming a talent, so it's not impossible. I think they've generally not focused on glyphs that would just affect people who took a talent. But it's not written in stone.

Eh, not always the case with hunters.

In WoD, Hunters mark was a talent-only thing, and yet we had glyphs to change the animation. In BFA, the glyphs still exist, and Hunter's Mark is back to being a talent-only thing.

Dire Beast is a talent in BFA, and there's glyphs to alter it.
