Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
Hey there.
I'm sorry if this has already been shared. I'm quite tired so I might have overlooked it.
Anywho, I came across a new tameable, which might (however I'm REALLY hoping it's not).

If I fail when adding the image it's because I'm a dumbass. Just click the link.
*Edit* Oh, it's a ferocity pet. Either it's bugged or not finished, or they are mixing up the ferocity/tenacity/cunning specs between the families.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
Yep, we've known about these bramble bears for a while now; Cursed Brambleback and Hyo'gi, both found in Drustvar. Initially thought to be a bug, we've got a great chance of it NOT being a bug since they don't look exactly like Kul Tiran bears. Ours are less ornate, while the druid form has more details. They should feel normal alongside the Ankylosaur and Sabertusk additions we've been graced with as unarmored druid forms.
Likewise, Bear has been ferocity for a while now on the beta. Very likely to be their new spec unless a massive outcry is heard, though I doubt that'll happen. I like it more like this anyway; bears ARE ferocious animals, despite being cute.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
They all are untamable now as of the most recent build. They were an unintentional tame.
Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
That is depressing. Blizzard don't like fun.
Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
Given all these awesome things we can tame (and probably more to come):

Aww but I loved them.. I have some kind of hope that they will put them as tameable again I so would have tamed one to level with.
Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
But do they really want us to tame them? I'm not seeing a increase in stable slots.Wain wrote:Given all these awesome things we can tame (and probably more to come):

If they didn't want us to tame them, then they wouldn't make them tamable. Keep in mind, Blizz doesn't have to give us a plethora of new pets every xpac.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
As much as I as a hunter like taming new pets I really think we should get some more slots in our stables to put these new pets otherwise why tame to release ones we had for so long.
Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
Well, that part is true. Some time ago they did say they were looking into it, but gave no details - probably because they had none to give at that point. We've been patient, but there's been no mention of it since so it's starting to worry me.Tomb wrote:I'm not seeing a increase in stable slots.Wain wrote:Given all these awesome things we can tame (and probably more to come):

Well, at least there are 50 stable slots, not three or five?

Working with the stable systems isn't a thing that can only be addressed in an xpac launch. It would be a fine system to introduce in a .5 patch methinks.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
They could if they wanted to/knew what they were going to do. So they either don't really know what they want to do with it or they don't view it as a priority atm.Quiv wrote:Working with the stable systems isn't a thing that can only be addressed in an xpac launch. Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
Possibly both :/ Maybe they know what they want now, but the only comment (some time ago) suggested they were going for a more lateral approach, reminiscent of "you think you want bigger bags, but you don't". If they can come up with a good, new system then that's great! But if it's going to take a while then a few extra slots right now would be appreciated by many. There's absolutely nothing wrong with stopgap measures.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
I was kinda hoping they would go that route. A few more slots would help keep up with pet inflation until their new system is in place.
A couple weeks back Jeremy touched on it, but nothing to share.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
If bramble bears were made tameable unintentionally it could not have been just a bug. Maybe just like mechanical pets they are ment to be tamed, but we have to learn the skill to tame beable beasts. On the beta there is a cave with with a large bramble bear and you can interact with them; however, this maybe one of those Gara a like tame quests and once we have the right item we learn how to tame bramble beasts.

Re: Cursed Drustvar Bears tameable.
They were originally just normal bears that were tamable. When they made them into bramble bears, that tamability carried over and, evidently, was initially missed until a later build. If we were meant to have a skill to tame it, it would still be listed as tamable (just like Mechs and Feathermanes are). That bramble bear is a Kul Tiran Druid and he is involved in a questline.
