I think it certainly gets the job done. If I am being honest, my first impression is it is pretty intense, a lot color packed really closely together. Some of the areas visually bled through because there wasn't much of a visual break between sections (beside the chart lines itself). Maybe add a bit of empty space below the last ability in each column to break it up a little if that makes sense? Like a little blank space below Shell Shield so it is visually set apart more from the Dragonhawk in the next section. That would add some length to the table, but hopefully not enough to amount to a ton. The idea would be visual breathing room.

Although again, this will do fine as it is I think. I don't want you to get nit picked to death :)

Hmm, could you please post a screenshot and the browser you're using? There should be actually quite a gap between the items you mention. Or maybe there are issues related to rendering in different browsers - I only just finished this tonight and haven't tested it outside Firefox yet. (it's 4 am here and I'm off to bed :) )

I do agree with your assessment that there's a lot going on in that first table, and a lot of colour. I'm still considering ways it might be done better :/

I was using Firefox but its the same in all 3 browsers I use (even mobile chrome). It looks like this for me. Theres a small bit of visual space between the ability and the family in the next section, but not much. But if others are digging it, then don't worry yourself too much about it.

Maybe make the column itself a lighter version of the spec color instead of each name? Except for the top row, that looks great as is. :D

I did try that, but unfortunately lighter red means pink, and placed in a sea of mint green it looked pretty awful. The green makes it really hard to use colour.

I'm thinking of deleting the spells from the table, as all spells of a type are pretty much clones, aside from a few inconsistencies. That'll remove a lot of the clutter.

I was thinking like this a bit without the names being in the colored bars.

Hmm thanks, I'll give that a try.

In the meantime, I did something to reduce clutter:

The spells are actually still there - hover over a family and they'll appear and you can click on them :) But since they're not always useful they remain hidden the rest of the time.

Oh! Sorry, I completely misunderstood and thought you had been seeing colour-bleed between sections (like elements were overlapping or something). The issue you were seeing was easy to fix - I added a little more space at the end of table cells :)

I couldn't get the background colours to work in a way I was happy with, so I've left it with the standard green background. Now that the actual spells are hidden until you mouse over the family names (I've also added a glow hover effect on those), the table is less cluttered.

I've added it to the menu and made it live, but please feel free to give more feedback if you notice anything. Thanks heaps for all your help with getting it workable :)

I'm now working on a summary page for pet-related things that have changed in BfA. Here's what I have so far:

http://www.wow-petopia.com/bfachanges.php

Can you think of anything else to add? I'm aiming for a page of broad headlines, with links to pages with more detail.

I believe that exotics will only be usable at level 65 but I can't find a link to that. Does anyone know? - never mind, I found it :)

No, I appreciate it :) I am probably spending way too long on it, but I want to get it right so I can reuse it for other pages in the future.

The pages are now live, and I tweeted them.

The menu bar has been updated for BfA.

I've added a pet-themed BfA logo, but it's one I whipped up at the last second. Hopefully I can convince SpiritBinder to do a nicer one in his spare time (though I think he's going to be very preoccupied this weekend ;) )

Couple small typos on the specs page:

Image
One ability is a passive that operates constantly, and the other is am on-use spell, with a cooldown.
'Am' should be 'an'
Ferocity. "Driven by a frenzied persistence to pursue prey, these beasts stop and nothing to achieve victory; even death is temporary for these predators."
'and' should be 'at'

Hope this is useful, otherwise it's looking great!
