Re: planning our 8.0 tames
My taming plans!
8.0
Log on to my main hunter. Admire Vika, my shiny new upgraded darkhound who I already have.
Admire Ghund, who I still need to go pick up before Tirisfal Glades meets with an unfortunate end
Admire my crow, who I think will be changing to
Decide if Maggie my red hyena is good as the new red, and if not, replace her with
Cry quietly over Weaver, my red and black barbed spider who just won't be herself anymore. Possibly release her and replace her with
Go tame some new ones:
And a
because of the new animations
Log onto my gnome hunter who keeps the mechs and admire my A-ME and chicken
Log on my night elf and admire Sathrah's new look. And cry over her wild counterpart's untimely demise and try not to think about all the rest of the wildlife on Teldrassil.
Tame my night elf a
BFA proper:
Briney! I'm coming for you buddy! Hang on!
And also I'll have room to try out alot of new ones
I doubt I'll keep all the new ones, but I want to enjoy them for a bit at least
And finally, race change druid to Kul'tiran once they are available. Change her name to Abie, after Abbie the Perfectly Normal (bramble) Bear. Learn to play Guardian spec.

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
My Dwarf (who will become a Dark Iron as soon as possible) will be deciding whether she likes and more than her current runed dark hound and basilisk.
She'll also be taming to replace her current spider.
The Goblin will be checking whether is a fitting replacement for her beloved parrot.
And will make a couple of tames to check if they work out:
Belfie will go and replace her current raven with this beauty. She'll also decide whether this is a fitting new look for her old spider.
She'll be taming and .
And keeping fingers crossed for these two perfect creatures: and !
And finally, my Gnome, although she's still a lowbie, is very excited to see the changes to her mechanical chicken.

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
Pre-patch tames for Krys:
These guys look really cool with their newer looks and I figured now would be a good time to see how they fit
Obligatory unicorn tame~ I'm really hoping Somber Dawn becomes tameable because that red and black is right up Krys' street but, if not, it'll be the slightly less-red unicorn
Actual BfA tames:
These guys are really cool~ I don't know if a lizard will stick, but we'll have to see
I really dig the albino look some of the newer creatures have. If it doesn't fit, though, then I'll see about the black variant instead
The old-world black Gryphon didn't fit, but I'll try again with this guy. As long as he doesn't constantly flap everywhere
And this will be Ishkar. Vyonne already has a pet named 'Ishka' but as long as I ignore that fact then it's fine :')
Pre-patch tames on Narriah, my hunter on Argent Dawn, when she gets to 110:
Most likely she'll get the golden unicorn, but I will keep my fingers crossed that the ivory one does become available at some point
Actual BfA tames:
I've been waiting for this colour to be tameable since Draenor and now I can finally tame one~ This will be one of Narriah's two main wolves
This pet isn't a definite, but I'll give them a go to see how they fit
This model is just so pretty I can't not tame them~ RP-wise, would she use a falcon? Probably not, but it's fine
Not sure which colour she'll have. I've honestly just got my fingers crossed that either they're always grounded or there's some sort of toggle implemented

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
For pre-patch, I am taming these guys. Some of them are just model updates, so I just went out and tamed them already.
If these become available ever, I'd get these ones in a heartbeat over the other unicorn.
As for BfA itself:
Basically I want all the gryphons. All of them. A lot of the models look awesome in BfA, they're just not something I'd use. But I need all those gryphons unless they're grounded. It bothers me having flying models that are 'grounded' (it's why I can't use flying mounts like dragons or birds as ground mounts pre-flying unlock). But I hate seeing the newer gryphons and hippogryphs grounded, which is why I didn't use the grand hippogryphs at all. Just give us a toggle already Blizzard so every one is happy! XD

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
I'm getting myself a nice Toad, one blue and one black Unicorn, and a few Hyenas. I already have my 2 rare Demon Dogs ready to go. Once BfA goes live I'm going straight for an orange bee. I'll probably pick up a few of the new dinos once I get over to the Horde lands. Hmm, and perhaps a Kodo because they really do look nice with the updated skins. I love to match pets with my transmog, so I'd love to get many more of the new pets, but I have limited space and it would require a severe overhaul of the Hunter stable. #hurrytheheckupandoverhaulthehunterstable

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
Well I'm my alt Hunter is going to have a "home" thyme of pets when I get them maxed
Gila monster (pronounced heel-ah monster) only venomous lizard native to the United States
Diamondback (I don't like finding them )
Arizona Blonde Tarantula (they make great pets as they don't startle much, are super chill and like to hangout in the open) I can normally find a big (hand sized) female by the horse barn.
Sonoran Desert Toad (largest toad in North America) we find them under stuff, anything they can squeeze into.

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
I think these are the pets I'm potentially interested in (multiple colours of the same model means I haven't picked which one I want yet), depends on which become available.

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
At the moment I'm planning to go for the Veilrunner unicorn, a Manarunner, the white raven/crow, one of the hyenas, possibly the purple or the whiteish one, and a bee. Not sure any of the others are really tickling my fancy just yet.
Re: planning our 8.0 tames
Hey,
is there already a list of all new tameable models in the pre patch? I looked everywhere but didn't find anything

There is a list that can be found here. Just mouse over the images and a list will pop up that shows which mobs can and cannot be tamed

Re: planning our 8.0 tames
That's an amazing topic and it's been interesting to see what pets others are interested in. With pre-patch dropping tomorrow on EU servers, I've decided to collect some pets that will get their models updated and plan for the future tames:
I've tamed Bayne, Fidonis and Plague to see how their updated models look in-game. I will probably keep only one of them, depending on the color scheme I like most:
Technically, Plague is supposed to be transparent, but it seems it doesn't keep it. At least it didn't in the beta.
I'd really like to tame Somber Dawn, his colour scheme is so striking, but as of now, he is sadly unavailable. I will keep an eye on him and for the time being grab the Tormented Shadowrunner from Val'sharah:
I wish the Lucid Nightmare-like unicorn could be tamed for Void Elves.
That is pretty much it for the pets that will be available with pre-patch. Now onto the expansion itself:
Cannot say how much of these pets I will keep, considering the changes to the pet families and that some of them might never leave the stables. The white birb stays for sure, though.
And surprising even myself this one pet blew me away, even though I usually don't tame gryphons. Brought in all the childhood / teenage years memories of playing Heroes of Might and Magic.
Gonna name it Erathia
Edit: I am also gonna keep an eye on Avatar of Xolotal, the Hati lookalike.
