sun glitter
Finally got around to taming Gon, did it on my troll hunter. Would like a name that means or is inspired by sun glitter, which is the sunlight reflected from water waves. Either a word for sun glitter in a different language, or a name that means something similar.

Re: sun glitter
I always find synonyms to be a good starting point for fashioning a name. Some words related to glitter that have potential are: coruscate, scintillate, radiance
thesaurus.com is an excellent online thesaurus https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/glitter?s=t
And the etymology of a word can also provide interesting name ideas
I'll look more later, though

From that, glitra, glizzan, khildos are kinda cool soundingWord Origin & History
c.1300, glideren (late 14c. as gliteren), from a Scandinavian source, cf. Old Norse glitra "to glitter," from glit "brightness," from Proto-Germanic *glit- "shining, bright" (cf. Old English glitenian "to glitter, shine; be distinguished," Old High German glizzan, German glitzern, Gothic glitmunjan), from PIE *ghleid- (cf. Greek khlidon, khlidos "ornament"), from root *ghel- "to shine, glitter" (see glass). Related: Glittered; glittering. The noun is c.1600, from the verb. Glitter rock is from 1972.
I'll look more later, though

Thanks for the ideas! Yeah, I think I might just look up words in other languages for water & sun/light and see if I can create something that I like. I'd still love more ideas though, as I'll probably not have the time for that until later.

Re: sun glitter
** I know you mentioned that you already found a name for your new pet but I still wanted to contribute some ideas to the thread, if that's ok?**
Heulwen = Welsh word for sunshine
Kirameki = Japanese word for shimmer/twinkle
Brilham = Portuguese word for glisten
Lygaid = Welsh word for dazzle
Gnistra = Swedish word for sparkle
Supposedly, the word Komorebi is a Japanese expression to describe " sunlight filtered through the leaves of trees".
After taking a good look at Gon, his/her skin color and pattern reminds me of water ripples. Perhaps Ripple would make a suitable name for your pet?
That's all I got for now but I'll add more later if anything else comes to me.

Oh sure! I love komorebi, I need to remember that one. And yes, water ripples were my initial inspiration!
