Who is Zul? Is he like a raid boss cause if so I doubt Blizzard would put the tome on him and screw hunters who don't raid out of these new pets.

Could be that it wont bind, that way hunters could buy it off other players.

He is, but you can use raid finder with no raid experience at all, so it's no worse than queuing for a group for anything else. But if it does drop from him, and it's Heroic or Mythic or something then that would suck for many

Have you checked the dungeon journal for Zul and G'huun on all difficulties on the PTR?

They've added things like that to the dungeon journal since Legion. They don't really do "hidden" drops anymore. Even things like Hex Tomes get added to the dungeon journal.

The only "hidden" drops are transmog drops, and even then they make sure players know they're there.

Also, have you tried checking Underrot? That's also a blood troll themed area.

No, it isn't in his drop list. Even still, if it is meant to be something that we are meant to discover then they could just make it hidden on the list.

As for Underrot, I haven't ran through there on the ptr and doing such would be difficult seeing as no one wants to run dungeons in the ptr.

Maybe. The lfr system is acting kind of odd, but that could be a way for us to easily check. Normal+ would require us to clear up to and includinf Zul. Would just be a matter of gathering enough people to either queue or to down the bosses prior to Zul.

Honestly, at this point I doubt we're getting that second taming pass or new tames in 8.1 beyond the Blood Beasts (which are cool, mind you, but still)

I guess who ever is in charge of hunter pets at Blizzard just gave up for patch 8.1 since nothing new came up after all this time. Even that darn tome to tame Blood Beasts seems to either not have been found yet, or hasn't even been added to a loot table at all so far. This is depressing...

Honestly, I don't want to rag on Blizz too much here, but I'm really not sure anything will happen in those 2.5 weeks, just based on pattern, you know.

Usually, taming passes happen fairly early into an expansion cycle and take a bit longer to sand out the kinks in them, but if it's really the last stretch until release, I am genuinely doubtful that they'll do any more taming passes. I'd be glad to be wrong, but I don't think I am.

I'm sorry Wain but there's no way they will ever start the 2nd taming pass THAT late in the PTR cycle. They had what, 2 or 3 months to do it? Maybe 4? Nothing changed. Direhorns and Basilisks are still missing their family skills too. This is just plain horrible. They dropped the ball and there's no turning back now for this patch. It will be one insane miracle for something to happen in the remaining 2 weeks left.

I think "Cannot be tamed" on beasts clearly meant to be tamable has become the bane of my WoW existence. Stinks that we still won't get the taming pass we should have had in the first place, but I guess I was a fool for expecting anything different.

There was already a forum thread that was made about it and I think Wain made a Tweet about it. At this point I am doubtful that they are going to change anything, unfortunately, though it is not surprising seeing as they didn't listen to the other requested changes
