Best pet ability? What is your opinion?

Unread post by Sunsorrow »

I want to know what the best pet ability is for pvp, soloing, and pve. Give me your input.

Just abilities eh?

PvP, I'd have to go with Venom Web Spray (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... spray.html)

Soloing, it's hard to say. It can be whatever the person wants really. But my favorite skill for soloing is probably Warp (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/skills_warp.html).

PvE, eh, there's a lot of math involved. Math and me, had a tussle way back. We're not so good friends. But I think it could be Monstrous Bite (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... sbite.html).

I'm curious about the Chimaera's ability, sounds downright powerful, yet I'm not so sure when I could just get a boost to AP from a wolf.

Froststorm Breath (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... reath.html) could be useful for soloing. It could work in PvP also of course, just that a root is probably more useful, hehe (just my opinion of course).

Furious Howl (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... reath.html) is arguably the best PvE skill, right up there with Monstrous Bite (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... sbite.html) and Savage Rend(http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/skills/ ... erend.html).

Froststorm Breath is indeed very strong. I don't mean that as a hard hitting move, but for what it does. It's a 50% movement speed reduction that last 5 seconds, on a 7 seconds cooldown, with a 30 yard range. It also deals dual nature and frost damage, so if you use one in PvE it almost guaranteed to hit. As far as I know there's no mob out there that are immune to both of those schools at the same time.

I really do like chimeras, I can see them being a decent alternative to a devilsaur for Ony or other fights where range is an issue. Its useful for pretty much everything other than tanking elites (super squishy cunning pets)

My personal favorite pet ability is Spore Cloud <3 it takes a bit of strategy to work it but its super fun for aoe in instances, hunter "tanking" (if your MM with an uninturruptable volley) and I've actually used it to destealth vanishing rogues and sneaky nelfies.
Another pvp trick for dealing with potential sneakers is to get you pet to nom on a critter and stand in the cloud while you volley or flare around you.

Lil, What does beast lore say about its armor rating?
...
ITS OVER 9000!!!!

It works great in PvP as well. You can keep melee fighters constantly at range with it's breath and cooldown. I used to use when I was farming by mounts

Froststorm Breath is a great ability, though i never really did alot of pve with a chimerah.
But i found it super for pvp + the chimarahs great size just added to the +. it tends to annoy some players greatly.

Spore cloud is my fav skill though, works great for heroics with lots of group pulls.
But the wolfs howls is still a great overall skill.
