Rofl! Well the name and the avatar/siggie made me lean one way rather than the other. <.< The gif too... That was hilarious and horrible at the same time.

I guess I had it coming for not updating my settings and putting my gender there. Though the character in my avatar and signature, Mariandale, is a transgender male to female in the anime Ixion Saga DT. The gif is from the first episode when they reveal that she has something extra down there. They even went and got Jun Fukuyama to do her voice. That's the guy who voiced Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass. And yes at times she goes into a deep and viril male voice in the show, she does so in the section you see in the gif and say the same thing I wrote too, which is always hilarious to see.

Um, anyway. The new frog looks awesome! I just hope the old critters get an update. I love what they are doing with the shiny graphics, but its starting to look like two different games smushed together.

Seems like you all have false information about the frog, as the Daily Blink found the real model for it.

But seriously, that frog looks amazing.

It did, and the person who posted it on the mmo-c forums credited her. :)

Everyone knows they're working on model updates anyway, they're talking about them all the time in blue posts. They just aren't ready to be shown yet.

End of discussion on this, please everyone. Attention back to the awesome frog model :)

The problem with text is it's hard to know what tone the writer was really taking and everyone's brain defaults to a different interpretation. This is why we have emotes. Feel free use them!

And if someone, anyone, continues to make repeat postings with a weak reply to the relevant topic so that they can then bitch about something barely related that Blizzard has done that upsets them, I'm going to start deleting said posts. A few times and it starts to get ridiculous.

So am I the only one that kinda wishes they would start replacing models rather than just making new ones? :P Especially with the quality of that old frog, yeesh!

I really hate the old ones, I don't understand why they wouldn't just outright replace them all. :/

It just seems silly to make the "updated" model and then not update them all. o_o

Yeah. I suppose for the wyverns/gryphons they had the excuse of making new mounts for a new faction. And that's what they'll probably use this model for, an excuse to have a new mini-pet...

I would like to see them update/replace the worst of the old models as well, without removing their core 'look'. A few more polygons here and there to smooth them out, higher res skin files, etc. It kinda sounds like this is the philosophy they're taking with the updated character models; they want to make them look better without making them look very different.

This should honestly be the philosophy with anything that needs updating....like the vanilla wolves. We don't want them to change; just more polygons.

For those who do not know. On Warcraft Pets they interviewed Chris Stockton (lead content designer) on 12/05/12 who stated that;
Older pet models will see some updating (frogs and snakes were mentioned)

So expect to potentially see the old models being replace & possibly removed with time. Frogs were supposedly to come first in 5.2 which was mentioned in the interview. :D

I LOVE the new frog and cannot wait to see my already caught frogs change to that. I so hope they do. Or at least be "updated".

They've used similar wording in the past, but actually meant that they're producing an updated model for new mobs only. Perhaps they'll replace all frogs with the new ones, but I'm not so certain.

Personally, I think they should replace all frogs with the new model, except for the Lifelike Mechanical Toad. I think the old model gives it that sort of synthetic feel.
