Anyone familiar with GIMP that can give me some pointers? I've never used it before and Photoshop is being a pain.

Also any pointers(maybe tutorials) to make avatars and sigs using WMV? I've having issues of saving a character as a PNG file and the weapon like disappears(It's the Stave of Ferocity).

Disappearing/Transparent stuff happens a lot. Normally what I do is save both a png and bmp file, and place the bmp over the png and get rid of all of the background the bmp has.

Would you consider making a tutorial sometime on how you do it? You got me curious now.

I made a small tutorial in the WMV help thingy. But since I don't use GIMP I dont know how similar things are. Rheyla said it sorta helped though.

:D The magic wand tool is about the only thing I really felt like I've got a handle on now. There's still a LOT about GIMP that I don't know. I do know that the text/fonts suck nards, and I don't think you can add borders. If you can, I haven't figured it out yet.

For models that have transparent bits, I have to save it as a JPEG and then magic-wand the dark blue yuckiness away.

Well if thats the only way to do it in GIMP.... It would drive me insane though. I am very fond of my magic wand tool. And the other way to do it in photoshop is supposed to be the Pen tool, but that takes more time than I would like. Magic wand is pretty quick and simple.

Photoshop 7.0 doesnt seem to wanna agree with Windows 7 Professional.
