He/she is named Urefu.

On my screen, s/he is Shingo.

King Leo, Queen Savannah, Binti, and M'ku <The Little Prince> are the lions next to that.
Violet the purple tallstrider and Goldwing the golden hawk are roomies.
Gargantua the black ape is on the end of that row.

Across from Gargantua is Felinni the black panther.
Jumbo, Jumbo Jr., and Jumbina the elekks are next to him.
Crush the rhino is on the end.

Oh gosh, I just saw Ellie Goodup taking her lion for a walk! And we passed Carl Goodup, her husband. He sells balloons. Oh, you sly dog-devs. <3

Yup the name was just Forest Strider.

I looked up the giraffe names. Shingo is Swahili for "neck" and Urefu is Swahili for "height."

The lion cub Binti means "Daughter, young lady" in Swahili too.

Crabs aren't the only non-friendy beasts in the island. I found a few wolves called Darkmoon Wolf. Level 85 but untameable. Used the skin below.

Also check out Rona Greenteeth. She's on the west side of the island away from all the tents. The food she sells made me giggle.

Wandering around, I happened to come across a character, Ellie Goodup. Most of the time, she's keeping an eye on the animals in her tent. Once in a while, though, she apparently takes her pet lioness out for a quick walk along the strip.

She seems to take any of the animals out for a walk, I've seen a different one on her each time.

Also, the zoo appears to change things up every now and then. I've seen the 'VIP Tour' guests different, as well as the giraffe (there's a brown one and a white one). Not sure if the other pens change inhabitants as well.

Another 'I wonder' moment: anyone have any of the old 'Darkmoon' tradeable objects you could get off enemies? Bat's eyes, pelts, plumes, scorpid blood, et cetera? Do they turn grey? Or are they still white and presently (and maybe future) useless?

And I'm guessing the Island finally answers the question of where the Darkmoon Faire disappears to when not on Azeroth.

Edit: Thanks to El's Extreme Fishing Guide you can also fish up a baby sea horse companion pet while on the Island. Undoubtly it'll probably have a low drop rate, but darn its a cute little thing.

Im seriously excited and can not wait to get my dancing bear mount! Wonder how long it'll take though. I can't do anything of the quests on it for some reason so I can't map anything out for myself

Edit: I looked it up. Apparently they aren't there all the time, which is TRAGIC, but omg, I haven't been this excited about random NPCs in ages. Asric! Jadaar! Eeee!
