Darkmoon rabbit is here!

just found the darkmoon rabbit in the darkoon cave. i think it will be a boss for the high level pet battlers to catch.

What's worse is only one pet drops. Anyone is able to loot the rabbit as long as they attack it, whether in a party or not, but it's loote to the first person that loots. I hope that changes.... Will be a really big pain if not. >_<

Thats not right, it's the 1st person to engage the rabbit, those other 2 that were with us came later and weren't in my party and they didn't get one.

You misread, Rawr. It's the first person to *loot*. I.E. you looted the dead bunny first. If one of them had, you'd be SOL.

You misread, Rawr. It's the first person to *loot*. I.E. you looted the dead bunny first. If one of them had, you'd be SOL.

Exactly. I definitely saw loot sparkles, and they vanished once Rawr looted.

I should make a macro that makes my pet sprint-fetch... If this looting situation makes it to live, that is!

I hope they change/fix the looting for this. That is incredibly unfair for the people who spent all the time getting it down for someone to show up at the end, attack it once and ninja the loot. I can see it being a real mess if it can be traded pet especially. Blizz would just be inviting drama and bitching.

I've noticed that looting thing with other mobs, too. When I landed at the starting area in Pandaria, people kept grabbing my loots on mobs they'd damaged as well--that were under my tag! I might have been mistaken, but that's what I think I saw...it was quite strange.

Not totally strange. Nowadays, many elites don't have a 'tag'. That way, if you attack a world elite, you end up with everyone who attacked it getting credit. Most of the creatures I've seen in MoP have an elite tag, thus making them based off the 'world elites', I'd guess.

What they should try to do is implement a system like the quest mobs in cata (in which you dont need the initial tag, you just need to get a hit on them, eg Problim in TB) but instead perhaps a loot option. Anyone who gets a "hit" on the "harmless little bunny" should be able to have a loot screen pop up to roll on.

Not if you have been there soloing it for half an hour and someone comes up and hits it once and gets the chance to take the loot you worked for. I think it should just be like all other world elites, if you tag it 1st or are in a group with the tagger you should get the rabbit or a chance at it if you in a raid group. Now for Hunters/Warlocks I don't see soloing this as a problem, it may take 30+ min but you won't need a raid group and once you have it on one toon, you get it on all (they need to "Bind on Pickup" these guys to prevent farming) anyways from my experience of sitting there for 20min by myself and getting him to almost half health then having some random people come and be able to loot the rabbit I had work for would not be cool in my book.
