Help with Swtor luancher

Ok I'm hopeing someone can help me here becuase I can't post on their forums yet (redeemed my code and all). So my issue is here I downloaded the game form the site I'm on the patcher and it's saying I need to down load over 10gigs of main assest tools. This is taking forever by the time I finish downloading everything if this is the size of the files I'll have spent 3-4 days of my first 30 just downloading stuff.

Can anyone tell me if this stuff is actually needed or a way to speed up the process. I've closed down all other net operating systems and and have capped out speeds between 115-120kb/s. Which I don't understand when i download from wow I'm like three to four times that number.
