Any advcie on getting the turtle mount? I've been fishing for 1 hour a day for the last few weeks. I'm fishing the nodes along the south edge of Northrend (Borean to Howling Fjord). Is it just a wating game? Am I fishing in the wrong spots? Do I need to try different bait than the shinign baubles? I decided I really want this before Cataclysm. With all the water areas, it'll come in handy... unless Blizz is giving hunters Aspect of the Shark (or dolphin) lol Hey, that's not a bad idea... grants the same ability as a druid's rabid mantacore form. (Time for another thread)

you have to fish in fishing pools, but other than that it's just a farm. Can take several days in-game of just fishing.

The Turtle can be fished from *any* Northrend fish school. It just has a very, very low chance of being caught. You do not need to do anything special to catch it, just fish in schools in Northrend.

It's all RNG. Did you triple post this or is my browser screwy?

Ok, I'll just keep fishing in pools. Since it seems that it doesn't matter what type of fish, I'll move to glacier salmon pools in grizzly hills. Maybe make some money from the AH as I try for the mount.

also the schools must not be quest related (such as the ones you make by jumping into water while covered in animal blood in Borean Tundra)

I've been trying for this mount myself. No luck so far, but I think Grizzly Hills is my favourite zone to fish in. Really peaceful and relaxing, you can just make your way down the river and back again.

i got really lucky on this mount i just /w my bf saying i was going to spend all day fishing for it and just as i sent it i got teh mount
ive heard most people have found this cutie around dragonblight i for one got mine at the fishing village (you know those fat cute things)

I got mine in a cuttlefish school XD

I don't remember what school I got mine in, but it was in Grizzly Hills, off of a dock. Everyone hated me, since I got it in 9 casts with very low fishing (I think just passed 200 at that point).

I was joking around with my boyfriend in guild chat, saying how I was going to fish up the turtle since I was sick of fishing up coins in Dalaran. And then a minute later, POOF achievement. Everyone was like '... are you kidding me..'. It was really funny!

Oh Magnakilro i dunno my mate got his when he was doing a daily :S forgot what one tho.

I decided that I am going to fish for it daily until I get to 100 glacial salmon. Whether it ends up being 10 minutes or 1 hour... 100 salmon is the goal. That way I can put 5 stacks in the AH daily and work towards my epic flight at the same time. Ater this I'll start farming that beautiful Zul tiger mount.

That's an excellent way to grind for things like that Fuzzy. Setting a goal helps you keep slightly more sane rather than focusing on "Where the hell is that turtle?!"

I found the glassfin minows to be the best farm spot as theres no sucker fish and hardly anyone fishes there.

Suckerfish don't make you less likely to get a turtle.

I know they don't but was just saying for people who may have less bag space/don't like them etc

i got mine while doing the fishing daily in Sholazar;p exectly 3 days after i stopped farming for it;)

I'd like to try farming the mount but I'd sort of fishing shy. My main hunter spend hours and hours and hours farming the sewer rat and never got it. My alt hunter has gotten it twice just doing the sewer daily. I'm a bit bitter after that, lol.
