Gon taming as alliance and timer?

Hi guys so need help/advice with the following im an alliance hunter (draenei hunter) level 110 im looking to tame Gon i saw the egg and he spawned however the guard killed me, can someone tell me some tips/trick to be able to tame him, and also the spawn time of the egg?

While I don't personally go after Spirit Beasts, in the past, I have seen hunters standing with their backs pressed against the wall. Of course, they were all max level. Those that want to camp the egg either have to just keep checking in every so often or roll a NightElf for Shadowmeld.
Not sure about the spawn times though.
