Just tamed him last night he pads around the entire lava pool from one end to the other so if your camping him in the spot that was originally posted you may miss him if another hunter comes by. I tamed him on my level 82 hunter and needed to use a drums of forgotten kings, drums of wild and eat a dragonfin fielt as well as use a potion of speed. You can not use a freezing trap on him and he hits harder than Krush ever thought to hit you only took him less than 10 seconds to kill me. Took me 10 attempts to get him.

Geez! Did you try taming a corehound for the puppy lust too? Grats on the tame!

Thanks. No on the corehound but will be trying to tame the beast on live tonight so he will have a turtle friend when cata goes live

Hee, cool! If anyone else has trouble taming Terrorpene, don't forget that we CAN abuse having bloodlust.

Yeah, I had to patch it in manually to get that one (using Ladik's MPQ editor). I hope you can get WMV to display it better than I did, though. On mine it came out dull and didn't show all the bright effects.

Update: I found Terrorpene again, and as much as it wrenched my heart, curiousity about the quality of his loot convinced me to kill him.

The good news: He drops only a gray item currently on Beta.
The bad news: I felt infinitely worse for killing him after reading it, but with a 25g vendor, non-hunters may not feel the same.

That right there is a nod to him being intended ONLY AS A HUNTER PET. Cause yes, HUNTERS WILL FREAKING CRY TOO that he was killed. -_-

Considering most players, for some unknown reason, go out of their way to grief hunters, I doubt it'll be too much of a deterrent. As for me, I of course would never kill him on live - but since Blazewing's loot was BoP, I was curious as to whether Terrorpene's would be also. This is infinitely better.
