Re: Pet Tanking: Help!

I just ran across this site: http://bigredrhino.wordpress.com/

Looks like Pet Tanking is a huge focus. I'm at a teacher's convention right now, so I didn't have a lot of time to explore the site in depth, but from what I've seen, looks like there might be some really good info there.

Re: Pet Tanking: Help!

I had posted a similar question somewhere, but the conversation didn't go too far. The Warcraft Hunters Union site linked above has a great amount of info. I highly recommend. I've been thinking about giving this a try, but time and resources have made it a little tough. Possibly after the holiday e...

Re: Heroic Pet Tanking

There's a bunch of guides on it here: http://www.warcrafthuntersunion.com/guides/ so I know it's possible, but I was curious about personal experiences. Some of my guildies are on board for helping me try it out.

Heroic Pet Tanking

Has anyone done this? I'm not looking for the extreme instance soloing. I'm more interested in being able to tank heroics. Figure it might be a cool thing to be able to do if an uppity tank leaves us high and dry. :)

Re: Petopia Forum Guild - US

Yep, well I don't talk much on the forums as you can tell :p But I do have a hunter in the Petopians guild, his name is Voojah and after searching Petopia for a good while I found his perfect pet. I used to run with a hunter named Nia in <Dark Days> on Maelstrom? That wouldn't be you, would it? Jus...

Re: Help: Old Cliff Jumper

*cough(http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mob_ironjaw.html)cough* Definitely not rare but still unique. ;) That's funny you mentioned Ironjaw, because that's who I had with me while I was camping Cliffjumper. :) Unique, yes. And honestly, one of the prettiest in the game, IMHO. But he's a continu...

Re: 2nd Hunter Pet Selection

I don't see a lot of Wasps, but they're pretty fun to play with. If you're level 70, then you're only a couple levels away from picking one up in Zanga. They're ferocity so they're good damage-dealers, plus their ability is an armor reduction on the target, which will increase your own dps as well....

Re: Help: Old Cliff Jumper

Congrats! I got mine a few weeks ago. He was definitely a toughie. He's realy the only rare/unique skinned wolf in the game which is why when Wolves became THE pet, I knew I had to have him. :)

Again grats!

2nd Hunter Pet Selection

I'm going back to a hunter I left at 70 back in the day and leveling her up to 80 so I can play with BM and MM specs and so I can enjoy some of the pets I don't have room for in my stable. After all the talk about tallstriders, I definitely thinking about making one my primary. I think I might get a...

A Way to Diversify Pets

I've been thinking about this a lot over the last few days... It's not uncommon for non-hunters to expect us to bring the "industry standard" best pet along with us on raids. Unless you have hunter-smart people in the raid with you, they don't see the utility of bringing along a non-wolf. ...

Re: Please help the 1st spirt beast

NPC Scan is great, but NPC Scan Overlay, makes it even better. It throws a colored area over rare creature patrol paths. Then, as you're flying around doing your dailies, it's really easy to stay on those paths to get to where you're going. Have picked up quite a few rares in both Outlands and North...

Re: Pet Emote

Yeah, when I was running with my Hyena (Loki) back in Naxx, I had pet emote running and it was fun for about a week before it got to be a little obnoxious. I did, however, macro together a few emotes for him. At the time, a lot of my guildies were running Undead, so Loki would occasionally gnaw on t...

Re: Hyenas?

I just recently abandoned my hyena. They are great pets. Good for leveling, GREAT for PvP because of their slow. I leveled to 80 from the moment I could grab one in the barrens and loved him. I gave him up for a wolf for raiding and a bird of prey for PvP (Snatch pisses DKs and Rogues off ;) )...

Re: Pets die way too often for non-BM hunters

So, whenever the going gets tough, Logrim is forced to sit by my side, howling in frustration, to boost my dps. I have a feeling that many of us with dogs IRL read this pictured our puppy sitting and doing that high pitched "I wanna play with that, but you won't let me" whine. Sorry, just...

Re: Petopia Forum Guild

I settled on a Daggercap Hawk - the only low level bird that uses that 'stormcrow' model. Of course they're situated at Utgarde Keep in Howling Fjord. It was quite a thrill to bring a little level 10 over to Northrend, but with only a few deaths I managed to tame one with relatively no problems. ^^...

As the victim of many of my guild member's party grenades, I can attest to the fact that Hyenas can dance.

Re: Pets die way too often for non-BM hunters

I'm in the camp that says use whatever pet you want and ignore the people who tell you how to play your class. I eventually caved and grabbed a wolf for raiding, but if I have a decently geared team and am running random heroics, I have no problem pulling out my slime, which is a tenacity pet. One r...

mania i had to make an information macro for my spirit bear cuz i get so many tells just make one that says /r(insert information here) and you should be good :D My brother told me to do that, but I meet so many nice people when chatting about my slime that I just can't macro it. It's so impersonal...

Re: What pet is your diamond in the rough?

After reading all sorts of posts about Tallstriders here, I think I may just have to go and get the beautiful purple one for myself. =D I fell in love with the colours of the Lost Torranche the first time I saw them, but always thought to myself 'Well, it's a Tallstrider so it's essentially useless...

Re: A full stable needing some space...

Yeah, I'd drop a spirit beast. I'm in the same boat (although not BM, because honestly.... I already want to tame EVERYTHING so one of the perks of Survival is I simply can't tame exotics). I have my slime and my hydralisk which I won't part with, I have the Sapphire Hive Queen, which is also unobta...
