Sadly, he doesn't croak or makes any sound when clicked on, unlike all the other frogs/toads.

on my 93 hunter, got 10 cat figurines, got 0 ghost saber
on my 110 hunter, (not doing pre expac quest), got 2 cat figurines, 1 ghost saber spawn.

I got the shadowcrazed marsuuls, which have a special appearance like the oil stained pets, but this one is intentional by blizz and its not a buff, so it won't lose it.

I think many of the frogs do that> I have tamed a few toad/frogs and a few shrink a lot. Atleast the ones in RFK dungeon shrink.
I tamed the from from shadowmoon valley, Draenor, though i don't remember it shrinking much at all.

Ive gone back in these last couple of days to retry the old glitch pet tames. No luck. Lone wolf and ghostpaw wolfs tend to despawn after tame when using the macros, but not complete tame. You might be onto something. During at least two of my unsuccessful attempts I know for a fact that I didn't target before I threw the meat. Plot Twist Alert!! Here is my video of 1st try tame.. someone mentioned Gara method, but maybe could it be more of the fel wolf method?. Could be a npc we might need to kill and obtain an item to use on the panthara first..

He should still be obtainable post 7.2.5. It is meant to be the new "tame challenge" put in Legion for us. I think ppl are just mixing old info with new info. After soloing up to and including Fenrir(boss), the tamable version should spawn shortly after the kill. No need to exit, nor wait ...

Back when they finally made hydras tamable, it was the first thing i did. Quest in the basin to unlock the daily. I still have this quest in my log.
Every once in a while i go back and summon a few and shoutout in general.
