There's also a ice crystal you can stand on south of The Nexxus, I believe close to where she spawns. Right next to a lower platform. I'll try to a get a pict in a bit. It's basically standing on the tree to get Bantholos back in the day. Even with the high flying Spirit she eventually makes her way...

We have patch 5.1 it seems. Downloaded the update a few mins ago. I didn't see new hunter pets listed in the patch update, but I for sure will be heading out to see if I can finally wrangle up a Spirit of the North.

Thanks for the update and confirmation. I feel silly for having gotten so pysched up last night, but I must admit it was VERY late while I was hunting and I missed the OBVIOUS details.
