Re: Nah'qi, Ember of Regrowth
Mythic raiders constitute a tiny minority of players, and they already receive perks and cosmetics for their efforts. The fire owl is the mythic cosmetic for this tier. They're just adding new forms for it. We've had raid-exclusive pets in the past, of course. The difference is that generally in th...

Re: Nah'qi, Ember of Regrowth
I'm not sure if the druid form and the hunter pet items will be tied, but if I go to the barbershop on my druid and preview the flight form, it does list the mount specifically as the source. This is actually good evidence against the mount being the source; if it were, there would be no need for a...

Re: Forgotten Gryphon
With the PTR wiping account data, I was able to test something I've suspected. With a clean account, I copied a level 70 Hunter which has not done the DF campaign. Forgotten Gryphon and Slurpo were level 64 and thus tameable. The reason: initially creatures in DF zones have fixed levels. Once you ge...

Re: 10.1 Beasts Thread
A couple more resets and I found Yellowwhiskers. So I can confirm: it's just random, with yellow seemingly a much lower chance.

Re: 10.1 Beasts Thread
Treasurewhiskers appears to be 100% spawn chance in each dig, but requires the Renown 9 upgrade. You can abandon the dig and come back later for another spawn, but you have to wait some time (30min?) for the instance to reset. However, all I've seen is the purple version. Has anyone seen the gold one?

Re: 10.1 Beasts Thread
If you're playing the PTR, please keep an eye out for Treasurewhiskers: https://www.wowhead.com/ptr/npc=205001/treasurewhiskers Wowhead shows it as a tameable rock mouse that uses the yellow skin. This probably doesn't help, but it does seem to have an associated spell in Wowhead's database: https:...

Re: Vorquin foal taming?
Good old wolf pup, the one glitch tame that was justifiably fixed due to being a disruptive exploit, but had unwanted side effects. The model change was rude and unnecessary, and everyone agreed on that. Shame we can't fix their mistake and get our pups back after all these years. Actually, they on...

Tundra Vorquin Foal no longer tameable on 10.1 PTR
They are still tameable on the 10.0.7 PTR though, so unless something changes you still have some time.

"Feels Like the First Time" quest
The Thaldraszus leveling questline includes a quest which sends you back to your starting area. While you normally don't stay long, you can abandon the quest to do other things there, such as tame beasts which can normally no longer be accessed once you leave the starting zone. For example, on a Gob...

Talonclaw can be DW mogged
Not sure if this is intentional or a bug, but it's pretty cool. Hunters can dual-wield, and any melee weapon can be transmogged into Talonclaw. If you have a weapon mogged into a 1H in your main hand and a weapon mogged into Talonclaw in your offhand, they'll both show up. Unfortunately, if you have...

Re: BFA Taking a Step Back for Pets. :/ (Specializations)
I don't see why they're locking families to specs though. What if I want a mechanical pet that gives me +10% health? What if I want a spirit beast that gives me heroism? What if I want a raptor that gives Master's call? It's the same reason they won't let you tank with your Priest by shooting arrow...

Re: Hati?
We bound Hati to us in order to keep him from dying. If he died, then Titanstrike would be useless. Hati was imbued with the power of the Thunderspark, which originally powered Titanstrike. By keeping Hati alive, Titanstrike continues to be powered via the wolf. If Titanstrike is corrupted, then Ha...

Re: Battle for Azeroth Allied Races Thread
It was written so that both factions would aid the Nightfallen in reclaiming Suramar. However, there was natural animosity that exited between the Nightfallen and the Kaldorei (as there should be). This didn't help relations at all. On the other hand, the Sin'dorei were much more understanding of t...

Re: Battle for Azeroth Allied Races Thread
Not really. There are plenty of good reasons for the Nightborne to join the Horde. The reasons expressed in the acquisition questline weren't great, but that is on Blizz. But outside of that, they fit far better alongside the Sin'dorei than Kaldorei. The Nightborne storyline was written to be neutr...

Re: BFA Taking a Step Back for Pets. :/ (Specializations)
I'd like to know their reasoning for such a design change, like what their end goal is. I obviously can't speak for Blizzard, but this change makes a lot of sense to me. Currently, homogenization has reached the point where in a typical raid environment (where plenty of people have hero/brez), all ...

Re: WoW Classic pets
The issue with giving them new content is that there will be some who will keep wanting new content. Classic servers are meant to largely be vanilla as it originally was. If you start giving them new things, then it moves away from being vanilla to being a different game. Vanilla, as it originally ...

Re: WoW Classic pets
Blizz should just give them vanilla as it was. One intriguing possibility is that they could add some things which almost were in Vanilla. For example, dwarf mages were playable in Beta, but cut before release. Then readded years later. Should they be allowed in Classic? I think even many purists w...

Re: WoW Classic pets
Reading forum posts about which version of Vanilla is the right version, and folks wanting a "remastered" Vanilla, has been very interesting. I hope Mr. Brack knows the can of worms he opened  They are going to have to remaster it to some extent. They need to make it work with modern...

Re: WoW Classic pets
They've stated they're hiring a completely new team for this project, so nothing in the current game will be affected! That's a bit disingenuous. Hiring a new team costs money. If they weren't doing classic they'd have that money to hire a new team to do something else. (also I'm in agreement, I ca...
