What I want to add to that is I try to balance my pet's basic armor and health. For example, a Gorilla has high base health and low armor, so I would choose armor 8 and stamina 6.
A Cat has low armor and medium health, so I'd get 1 level higher in armor than in health.

I think it is safe to say that we can assume that all the attack speeds listed on Petopia are correct.
