Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Here's hoping with all the other creatures getting the 'taming' switch thrown, they'll get around to fixing the older models before the patch drops!

Re: Exotic Beasts moved to level 39 (~ 98-99!)

The problem is that reporting this as a bug helps delegitimize *actual* bug reports from people. I agree that it needs to be changed, but it's not a bug; it's a change. A bad one, and one that needs correcting, but not a bug. Don't 'report it as a bug daily'. Make your voice heard in the threads and...

Re: Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

Another one to add to the list! And it even has a 'type' (spider)! It's just not tameable:

Re: Exotic Beasts moved to level 39 (~ 98-99!)

Imagine seeing Loque when you're leveling in Northrend. "Cool! Wait.. I can't tame.." Oh gosh! I didn't even *think* of this! I was only thinking of the stuff they added not long after Cataclysm, but you're right: most of the spirit beasts are actually below found in below-level-39 zones,...

Re: Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

Stretching it a bit for this one, but it makes 100% sense: https://www.wowhead.com/npc=84872/oskiira-the-vengeful Oskiira The Vengeful is marked as a beast (and an untameable one at that), but is very definitely an undead creature, considering the nearby corpse of the Dread Raven. It's presently in ...

Re: Exotic Beasts moved to level 39 (~ 98-99!)

Another thing that really infuriates me about it is that they have such a wide variety of rare exotic beasts made at low levels *specifically* so that hunters have access to them. Not the 'Classic' rares, but ones added later for taming purposes. .... but now the exotics, they won't have access to u...

Re: PSA: Tame your bony birds while you can!

I'm pretty sure that the only beasts being transformed are the actively undead ones. The stitched Darkhounds *may* be at risk of it (especially considering some are explicitly referred to with 'undead' terminology), but considering the skull boars and rotting bears are still set as 'beast' and not '...

I know as well as Darkshade, there's the other phantom kitties around him (although they seem to be identical, other than being smaller):

PSA: Tame your bony birds while you can!

On the PTR, the undead looking birds are now marked as 'Undead'. Tameable Undead, but still Undead. As the book hasn't been found yet, unless you're an Undead hunter, it may be a long while (if at all!) that you can actually tame one of these. So consider taming them on live before the new patch dro...

Re: Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

I just tested to confirm to myself:
Corp'rethar Guardians are definitely tameable.
However, you cannot Beast Lore them at all.
So for testing, don't just try Beast Lore; you need to actively try to tame them to see if the switch has been flipped!

Re: QOL Hunter Request. Beast Lore and Hunter's Mark as passive.

Ah, you're right. I stand corrected on that one!
Wasn't Hunter's Mark in MoP also considerably different? It didn't remove the stealth any more? So you *could* apply it to more than one target.

Re: Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

You could never use Beast Lore on undead creatures, as far as I'm aware. The better test would be to try taming them. At least it was the only way I could do it with my Undead on the things I was taming.
Maybe I just got the unlucky draws!

Re: QOL Hunter Request. Beast Lore and Hunter's Mark as passive.

I mean, we used to have both; an active castable Hunter's Mark and at the same time, it was baked into Arcane Shot. And not to mention Serpent Stings were baked into everythig else too. With the right talents, yes. It wasn't for everyone; only specific talent trees/specs could do it. Marksman, IIRC...

Re: Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

Another name to add to the list from me! Remember these ghostly bears? Neither did Blizzard, alas; they are yet untameable (although I think they'd fit in beautifully): https://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=59783/deepwoods-spirit I would also *tentatively* include some of the Nerubian Juggernaut models as und...

Re: QOL Hunter Request. Beast Lore and Hunter's Mark as passive.

Hunter's Mark, I have no problem with being on its own. GCD is a bane, but casting it can be done well in advance. And sometimes you don't *want* to shoot something to Hunter's Mark it. You just want to mark it so you can see where it is. So for me, big ol' *NO* on Hunter's Mark being baked into oth...

Undead That Could Be Beasts But Aren't (Yet?)

Now that Shadowlands opening is hitting the PTR, how about making a list of undead creatures that *could/should be* tameable (and maybe bringing attention to them and reminding folks they're here can get the trigger switched). I've been running around doing some looking and testing, and so far found...

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming

According to Wowhead (and upvoted by 5 other people), Sewer Beastling does *not* keep its name at this point in time.
(Have not independently confirmed that, but it's a strong suspicion)

Can also confirm:
Olm The Wise
Siltstalker The Packmother
Somber Dawn

That';s the bunch I've tamed since the new code was put into place. :)

Re: Petopia Corrections - Current Patch Only

It's phased; it's in an instance of the Gnomeregon dungeon. I don't think you could even group up and sync, but I could be wrong about that.

When it died with 'WAS I A G-GOOD B-B-B-BOY?" my heart broke a little and so I *have* to get one now! ;)
