Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I've been studying things related to that pale Shadehound skin, and WoWhead only shows one NPC with that skin out of the five that are listed on Petopia. The Mawsworn Seeker in Cocyrus is the only one with that skin, according to Wowhead's model viewer. I know the ones in the Beastwarrens won't spaw...

Re: List of one-time tames
I went through all the pets listed on Petopia, and these are all of the unique appearances that can be tamed, and only appear during a single quest or quest phase. These NPCs can not be found in any way other than being summoned by the quest, or by being in that quest phase. I may have missed some, ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Skittering Broodmother , a named purple Mawrat, is tameable. Currently says it's not on Petopia, but it's definitely tameable. It's only a rare, and it is not an elite, so its level isn't a factor for max level players. Keeps her name when tamed, too. My favorite Mawrat color too, so this one makes...

This NPC is not in the game any more. The quest associated with it is not offered anymore. It was back in classic WoW, but has since been gone for years.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
jailerhound_white This specific skin just won't show up anywhere. and the Mawsworn Seeker that's supposedly in Cocyrus is not there. I gave up trying to find the Assassin version because it's ALWAYS one of three annoying dudes rather than the beast. Other than Lor and Ventun, I don't think this loo...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Not sure how none of us noticed, but Packmother Soulfang is not tameable. Perhaps during beta, but definitely not on live. Beast lore says no, Tame Beast says no.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
jailerhound_white This specific skin just won't show up anywhere. I missed my chance at Lor the Loyal and Ventun the Ravenous, the Beastwarrens aren't showing the various ones listed there (Likely due to the biweekly hunt nonsense), the Mawsworn Seekers in Skoldus Hall are the grey color instead of...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Not to downplay Worgpower's tips, but we did discover that the initial Plagueroc in Plaguefall (that is, the one that's scripted and flies at the Maldraxxi dudes) is tameable at level 60. I hit instance limit to see which colors were possible, and through humorous expositions of my own color blindne...

Re: Best Shadowlands Tank Pets?
I feel that if Rhinos didn't look so outdated, they'd be the best thing. I mean come on, they're basically shaggy cows with really big horns! Who doesn't love a big, shaggy beast that could impale you, an SUV, and another rhino with a single jab? Jokes aside, the clefthoof family definitely needs mo...

More beasts found that keep their name; Windward Saber and Windward Huntress. Lemlia Luna on the secret finders discord found them.

Reminder: Shadow of Dambala
Now that Renown can reach level 8, Night Fae hunters can obtain a unique pet; Shadow of Dambala. This is a spectral purple cobra that fades out the closer it is to the ground. To get it, you need only progress through the quest "Cleansing the Forest" until you fight Dambala. Start combat w...

Re: New slimy visual effect pet trick in Shadowlands
I think beasts that have ghostly bits get the best effect. It highlights the areas that are normally nearly invisible. It makes it look like the shadehounds are just really skinny dudes on all fours, and it cracks me up so much. Thanks for sharing the trick! EDIT: I made myself laugh even harder at ...

Re: Best Shadowlands Tank Pets?
I specifically try out different pets in Shadowlands content purely because my pets don't get their faces pushed in as badly as BfA did. Here's my findings; A) If you want your pet to survive, use a Clefthoof (Ferocity). Nothing survives like a Clefthoof. NOTHING . Mend Pet heals for way more on a C...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
When I do mythics with my friends, I always call the big guys "alien gorillas". The gorilla family needs some love, and other families have clearly alien and unusual things. Examples; Feathermanes being a hodgepodge of feathered animals, hounds having living armor and flaming skeletons, li...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I would like to point out that, despite searching for days, Old Ardeite has not spawned. I don't know if it's just EXTREMELY rare, or it senses I want the battle pet to complete my baby teroclaw collection, but I've not once seen it on live. Likewise, The Slumbering Emperor isn't always up. Hasn't b...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
That's pretty disappointing. Glad I tamed mine before they "fixed" that. A better solution would've been making it respawn in the aggroed state if you're on that stage of the quest, and it's not been killed for credit. Flipping the switch is a bad move. EDIT: Or just make taming it count a...

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
It's not "taking away", but rather "also being able to have it on a lesser scale". For Warlocks, they summon intelligent (arguable with felstalker and imp) demons that are so far from what they originally were. Felstalkers are beasts in the sense that they're animals, but that's ...

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
There's also those half-skeletal bat things from Argus that would be great bat pets. Crawbats and the Legion bats would have been the best additions for the family, what with bats having lacking options. I quite like the Dredbats, but I do agree that the weirder things need to be tameable too. I mea...

Where was it? I ran through a chunk of the Maw, but I couldn't find any of the places listed on Petopia.
