Re: Taming the Beast

We died a few times at first (well, they died....I feigned death) while we were working everything out. The Paladin finally came up with the idea to try [Divine Shield] on himself followed by [Divine Sacrifice]. This basically made 30% of the damage I was receiving go onto him instead, but the bubb...

Re: Haste/Taming

It may have just been luck though, but from my experience I don't think the fear timer goes off twice in one tame. There is a certain amount of luck in taming him. When I actually tamed my baby, I had no fear ward and no BW up, since my tame kept getting messed up by Horde. It was all I could do to...

Re: Taming the Beast

Anyone attempting to tame a pet in a contained setting like this may want to dps him a bit to establish aggro over their healer, btw. It was a luxury I couldn't afford with King Krush, but I would have done it otherwise!

Grats on the tame! ^_^

Re: Arena pet

For LK, I had a crab up until recently, but had him reborn as a spider. Both have worked nicely for me, though I'm marks and have my own disarm. It really depends on your comp/preferences. Tenacity pets can survive better on their own, but my lil' spider buddy has killed rogues while they've had me ...

If I were ever to get the Invincible mount -- the chances of which are absolutely 0% -- I would totally call him Vince.
To be quite honest, I'd do that too! But then, I'm all about cutifying the lean and mean. x_x :D

Re: Guide: Taming Toughies

For taming fearing beasts, you can also pop BW at the top of the tame, then quickly ABANDON (not dismiss) your old pet. Given, the effect of BW doesn't last as long as it used to, but if you can pull it off, it's extra insurance. If you're on a PvP server trying to tame a difficult beastie, having f...

mania i had to make an information macro for my spirit bear cuz i get so many tells just make one that says /r(insert information here) and you should be good :D I've been half-tempted to do that myself; even my dear King Krush never got as much attention as my sweet Arcturis! And yet, Krush ...

Agreed on the spirit beasts. Remember that just because you love a pet's look, it doesn't mean you're truly attached to him/her. You can always appreciate a look from afar.

Re: What pet is your diamond in the rough?

I have always wanted a tallstrider in my stable, but I never have the room. D: I've tamed Mazz on two different hunter alts, plus a little brown one on my first hunter alt (it was her main pet until she fell for a purple bat, then they split time). I've always ALWAYS wanted a purple one, but I've ne...

Are you opening with scorpid sting to increase his miss chance? That should help a lot, especially if you're 80.

Re: New BM Spec seems to do more DPS then MM and Surv... Big sup

All I can say is that different playstyles and shot rotations may work better for some hunters than for others. I found my dps went up when I switched to marks from surv and BM, but that's because I was happier playing marks than the other specs (minus the loss of my dear devilsaur). I have always p...

I didn't start Petopia (Brash is the genius behind it!), but I am proud to serve as editor for the site and occasional den mother to the community. ;)
My hat's off to Brash as well, but I'm afraid she was before my time. ;)

Ryno - I didn't think I wanted King Krush as a pet... but since then I've changed my ways. Green Devilsaurs ftw 4ever! ;) omgyes. I fell HARD for him when I saw him in the wild for the first time. I still love my bear on principle, cause he's a bear, but the pet I'm overall most pleased with the ap...

Oh yes, Petopia was actually the first WoW related site I was ever introduced to! Even before MMO and EJ and such, there was....Petopia. ;) I was shown the site before I started playing and picked out my first pets (black bear and snow leopard, though I ended up getting a ghost saber instead) before...

Re: Invincible or Skychaser

Plus, Invincible is going to be released as a mount in ICC, so the name will already be kicking around.

Agreed on Skychaser being a more appropriate name for a wolf. Besides, what do you call Invincible for short? Vince? x_x Ugh. Cuts the power out of the name.

I don't know where else to post this, but I just wanted to praise you, Mania, for moving the forums to this new format. Petopia's among my most-visited WoW sites, but it's the one I feel the closest to, just because of the warmth of the hunter community. Whether they're endgame hunters or casuals, t...

Who do you run heroics with?

And I don't mean your humanoid friends! I run with my wolf on occasion, but more often than not, I find myself bringing my cat along, for old time's sake and just because I can. My gear's more than enough to compensate for the slight dps loss. It's worth it just to see her at my side again. If I had...
