Hate to nitpick, but the Nitro Boosts, Parachute Cloak, Repair Bots/Mobile Vendor/Banker are all pre-cata. That was exact my point. Engineers use to have a lots of things to do in BC & LK. But as for Cata all we have is pre-raid helm, pre-raid gun, pre-raid... We even don't need ammo anymore :O...

Right now engineering worth nothing for hunters (especially alliance - at least horde got new vehicles) - 'cept of helm and gun.
In a case Blizz will make it happen it could be new era for engineering...
