I checked the 3D model on Wowhead and it doesn’t appear that they do. Most of the time the models on Wowhead will show whether or not something is part of the model or if it is something that would be lost with taming.

It isn't just the Bait Spec. You have to invest 10 points into Bait and then 20 points into the branch of Mastery. If you don't, then you'll never get the bear to spawn.

Slurpo has been flagged as tameable. However, I do not know whether or not it can be tamed at lowers lvls. Since it is an elite, it will be 72 when you’re at 70.
