I've been mucking around the quest -- the two parts it could have happened are upon aggro or first calling the pet. Aggro, the mob blinks, as if it's copying something, or going shadow form. I'm not sure. More later. It may be the ID of the cat skin you tamed and the mob is the same/similar. No luck...

How did it happen? Does it look like you're attacking when you send your pet out to fight?

Have you tried the ( /cast [nochanneling] Revive Pet ) macro? Spam that freely as you're finishing the tame, helps a lot. Are you killing it yourself or having a friend 1 KO it? Yes.

Plausible in theory, but doesn't Fire of Elune have a cast time? If it didn't, it miiight be possible to have someone kill and fire at the tame time, but if not, then it can't happen, for the bear has to be dead before it can be used. One more thing to consider... Rogues and Warriors won't be rolling on our ranged weapons anymore either. Yes... but we can't roll on those cool daggers, staffs, ect. I dunno. It's a good change overall, but it's SUCH spit in the face for Transmog, RP, and people who have rare weapons that they want...
