You could always say that she finds her charge as one of the current members of the little group/the survival of the group in general? Maybe it's decided it's too dangerous for a lone Guardian to wander away, so she sticks with the group as they help her out to find her charge and then she realises ...

I was really hoping for something like those wicker constructs that we see in the zone trailer for Drustvar for the Kul'tiran moonkin form - the tall and gangly looking ones. From a lore standpoint I don't know the logistics of using such a form but, for pure looks alone, those guys are cool as heck...
