Another thing to consider is the Mend Pet glyph that increased a pet's happiness. You can pretty much spam that and hardly ever have to worry about feeding them directly. :) It's definitely worth it in my opinion, it cuts down on so much food. I actually think Blizz wanted to give Horde something like a gnome and alliance are all human looking expect for worgon and Draenei, so I think its a case of giving alliance more variety
