I'm curious too...where you looking for permanent piercings, or temporary ones? I know some are meant to stick around for a long time (ears, nose, etc) while others are temporary (a day to a week or two). Might give you more options.

I tend to horde my cooldowns and save them for when they're REALLY REALLY NEEDED. Which for me is bosses (if I know one is coming up), or like Ryai said, if I know an especially tricky pull is coming up. Totally agree. When I was touring Kalimdor on my baby troll druid I went to Dustwallow after the amazing changes in the Barrens to see what they did next. The first few starter quests were the same.
