Pet family doesn't matter much. Initiates usually die with time to spare if your raid's dps is up to par. You could, say, dismiss your interrupt pet before the tornadoes spawn and pop out your dps pet for the burn phases, but that sounds like a lot of effort for minimal gain, especially if your tank...

Prismatic Elixirs work great for Kirix if you want to tame in a hurry/can't be arsed to rock jump and evade bug it. You'll live at least another tick of his aura, which is should be enough to finish the tame with a little haste (I usually run around with 8-10%) or some pvp gear if you roll with that.

When they're spawned, they pat around the north half of Widow's Clutch (the spider part of it, not where the druids are).

Those broodlings and the ones that spawn from the dead druid (which is only near the Forlorn Spire anyhow) are different GUIDs, so you can tell them apart.

Unfortunately, Herald of the Titans was made into a FoS (as was the Argent Defender achievement for ToC) at 4.0, so it's not attainable anymore.

The spawnpoint for Solix actually appears on the north side of the ramp leading to Deth. Paladins and Warlocks actually have their own FoSs for their mount quests (before they got taken out), so a class-specific FoS would not be without precedent.

I don't see them putting them in for pets, but for Rhokdelar and Benediction... yeah, I could see it.
