Can the Dino keep chewing on him (or a major add?)?

Just tamed Sapphire!!

Re: Wolf vs Devilsaur

On a side note, and perhaps something for a new thread is, which pet to bring to which fight? Let's just say the total dps is the same. All the fights in the lower section and plaguewing, other than gunship, would benefit (or at least not be hindered) by a Trex. Blood council, Vala, and Sind all wou...

Re: Wolf vs Devilsaur

Well, the thing with the spreadsheet is that it is one set of conditions. No one really knows otherwise. It's a bit easier for other classes. But, you are certainly valid in keeping AGI for now. The difference, if there is one, isn't significant until late into Icecrown gear. And you are right about...

Re: Pet dps, found something interesting...

I found out while calculating out pet dps. I'm not sure if it's the over time effects not being calculated correctly or a problem with ability prioritizing. Then that sounds like a problem the main spreadsheet would have, or any spreadsheet for that matter. Regardless, it's the best comparison tool...

Neither agreeing nor disagreeing, but upon what do you base this claim?
I would like to know too, and if the standard spreadsheet (which I can't use on my Mac) has the same problem?

Re: Wolf vs Devilsaur

I'd been told repeatedly that Devilsaur outdoes Wolf for BM, but I'm not seeing it. I don't know why. I'd also read in a couple places that BM can and should gem Agility between the Ap/ArP gear levels, like any other spec--does anyone have links to show testing grounds or info one way or another, a...

Re: Wolf vs Devilsaur

Ok, at my gear level, with FULL raid buffs, the Devilsaur outpaces the wolf by about 34 dps. With no buffs, the wolf is ahead of the Trex by ~60dps. Where's the crossover? who knows. There are probably about 40 variables between buffs, gear, gemming, and movement. I would say that in a 25-man raid, ...

Re: The tanking gun and you.

I don't actually read Hunter's Union, so I don't know what his personal opinions are, but on wow.com I doubt spec'ism is accepted. I find the hunter articles on wow.com are amazingly spec balanced. Then again, they're not the place I'd look if I wanted info on raiding as a hunter. ;) Point taken. :...

Re: The tanking gun and you.

Uhm no. That is most definitely not what they were saying. The article was about non-raider gear at level 80, regardless of spec. ok, to be fair, I was probably extrapolating from one of their writers, Frostheim, I think, who does (or did) the hunting lodge podcast. He was big on BM not raiding. Th...

Re: The tanking gun and you.

wow.com actually had an article that pointed out this same fact, about oh... a month and a half ago, I think. Same reasoning, and he especially suggested it for non-raiders as you can pick it up on the AH. But they didn't dig deep enough in the spreadsheet. What they really meant was no BM should b...

Re: Best Pet for PVP or BG

As far as dps goes, it's Chimera>Bird of Prey>Silithid

But if I ever find Aotona, the choice is made for me. :D

Re: Best Pet for PVP or BG

I've been debating this one.. there is no one good answer, as it depends on whom you are fighting.

Do you want a disarm, root, casting-slow, stun, or....

Another way to look at this is see what class gives you the most trouble, and pick a pet to counter what they do.

The tanking gun and you.

Something I thought I would share, as I have been researching this, and talking with the theorycrafters at EJ. First off, let me be clear, I'm talking to BM hunters here, and ideally BM hunters with 2pc-T10 gear. (MM and SV hunters, as well as gun-haters, can stop reading here). So, now that I'm spe...

Re: Dual spec worth it or no????

I was BM/MM for a while, but went back to BM/BM as I found that being so tied the BM, I was never really able to get the most out of MM, to justify switching specs. If you have the skills (I don't) to excel at MM, then dual-spec is certainly valuable, for that, but otherwise, not so much. However, I...

Mammoths is about it, or a kodo if you were lucky to get one.

Hence part of the reason to consider the racial change.

But.. I do think a dwarven engineer hunter would look cool in Mimron's head.

Also consider the reddish wolfs from Blasted Lands. I'm playing with one now, as I haven't seen another toon with one of those in a long time.

Re: Mounts you can't stand but want anyway

To derail slightly.. I hate riding the raptors the most. The bouncing makes me sick after a while. /derail The early rocket mounts.. yeah, ugly, would never ride one. The new one, however, is pretty cool, esp if you are an engineer. The celestial steed? I would only have that on a female BE or Draen...

Re: Turtle

The other option is to fish in Howling Fiord where the Herring come from, as it gives you a chance to catch the rare Herring for the fishing achievement. If you are NOT going for that achievement, or already have it, then probably fish in pools that net the most money (Dragonfin or Salmon, probably).
