Grong is outside the raid in an alliance quest chain. But he's flagged humanoid most of the time. On part he's flagged Beast, and wowhead doesn't have him flagged Gorilla at that point. If I ever get the sliver, I'm going to double check.

They currently opt in/out based off of how far away you are and if your pet is targeted. The distances are somehow modified by the pet model. There are some models that don't stare at the default idle distance, and some that do. But in general, the "always stare" is about 1 yard away. The ...

I noticed my unicorn pet doesn't look at me constantly, only when I have it targeted. Its resting distance away from me is outside the radius of creepy behavior.

I didn't remember that about the marsuuls. The geometry of it might look weird with a slightly different model, but I am a little more hopeful. Has anyone here know if something like Blender can be used to swap models and riggings? I kind of want to see what it could look like.
