Grong is outside the raid in an alliance quest chain. But he's flagged humanoid most of the time. On part he's flagged Beast, and wowhead doesn't have him flagged Gorilla at that point. If I ever get the sliver, I'm going to double check.

Re: Newly Tamed pet(s) don't have family abilities
No, command pet is for the spec ability. I'm not sure why you haven't got turtle's shield yet. I suspect it might be bugged, because I have a level 19 hunter with a wolf and a bird of prey. They both should have a snare ability, but only the wolf has one. Also a beetle (which has the same family abi...

pet attack speeds normalized again
All my pets now have a base attack speed of 2 (modified by haste). I had a few I knew used to be faster, and I went out and tamed one that is still faster in the wild. It didn't really ever effect dps that much I think, but it did have some effect on enemy casting pushback. Anyways, that's done for ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Which flying pets currently (or until the pre-patch) would fly up to attack a flying mob? Because I noticed pets I summon while flying 90 yards above the ground don't despawn, they just run around down there. Maybe there's a slim possibility one will glitch and fly around next to you. I know parrot...

Re: Hunter Pet head-turning behavior
They currently opt in/out based off of how far away you are and if your pet is targeted. The distances are somehow modified by the pet model. There are some models that don't stare at the default idle distance, and some that do. But in general, the "always stare" is about 1 yard away. The ...

https://www.wowhead.com/news=318520/hunters-can-tame-the-rajani-warserpent-unique-thundering-white-cloud-serpent-mod This is cool but it requires a whole bunch of annoying/very difficult pre-res things to get (kill 10 enemy faction, then kill 10 of your faction, all without dying, to unlock a toy)....

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I noticed my unicorn pet doesn't look at me constantly, only when I have it targeted. Its resting distance away from me is outside the radius of creepy behavior.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I didn't remember that about the marsuuls. The geometry of it might look weird with a slightly different model, but I am a little more hopeful. Has anyone here know if something like Blender can be used to swap models and riggings? I kind of want to see what it could look like.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I was camping shadow croaker, and decided to preview some models, to see if some of the missing skins are assigned to an npc that hasn't been uploaded to wowhead or wow.tools (or here) yet. Mostly I was looking for the missing two tints for ardenweald toad, and the untamable + missing tints for vulp...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Somewhat easier to find while a certain covenant is a lot better than having to switch covenant, as long as it's not a difference between camping for a month and it always being up if you're in the right cov. I wonder about the phases, wpvp-wise (off-topic) and helping-out-friends-wise (on-topic). L...

We're going on the third Day of the Dead with messed up graphics on its signature pet. macabre bfa.jpg macabre prebfa.png It's hard to look out now, when it used to be fun. druidcatkultiran_noarmor_brown druidbearkultiran_noarmor_dark druidtravelkultirannoarmor_green Definitely add these to my list, if they were available, as I'd have them fast as I could. The bramble bear/cats (and stags and birds) should be tameable, they're different than the wicker dogs, which see...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I really wish Blizzard would find some kind of way to let pets with flying animations switch between flying and standing on demand. WoD ravagers, kunchong, rylaks, dread ravens, etc. Flying blood beasts are begging to have a flight/ground toggle. And my raven is so tired after flapping for years, I...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I started messing around on the beta, and a few of the things I noticed have already been mentioned (the head-turning... it's very hard to miss and irritating). but also apparently if a pet retains its name when you tame it, you don't get your first rename for free. Also kind of annoying, I don't re...

Thanks for the warning. You can get back an identical oil-stained effect, but it only lasts an hour at a time(and maybe when the pet dies too, I don't remember). But it's from an item you can stock up on, called Machine Fluid . The island you farm it on is level 110, but since Machine Fluid doesn't ...

I don't know how you'd get the the melody he used, without datamining (which we were told we didn't need to solve) or snooping on the RL Amara, which we were told not to do. Maybe just the placement of those five lootable meats is what we should have gone off of? He explained how he did it: https:/...
