Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Vull'kaz the Earthbreaker doesn't keep its name when tamed, RIP.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I would like to point out that, despite searching for days, Old Ardeite has not spawned. I don't know if it's just EXTREMELY rare, or it senses I want the battle pet to complete my baby teroclaw collection, but I've not once seen it on live. Likewise, The Slumbering Emperor isn't always up. Hasn't b...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
That's pretty disappointing. Glad I tamed mine before they "fixed" that. A better solution would've been making it respawn in the aggroed state if you're on that stage of the quest, and it's not been killed for credit. Flipping the switch is a bad move. EDIT: Or just make taming it count a...

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
It's not "taking away", but rather "also being able to have it on a lesser scale". For Warlocks, they summon intelligent (arguable with felstalker and imp) demons that are so far from what they originally were. Felstalkers are beasts in the sense that they're animals, but that's ...

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
There's also those half-skeletal bat things from Argus that would be great bat pets. Crawbats and the Legion bats would have been the best additions for the family, what with bats having lacking options. I quite like the Dredbats, but I do agree that the weirder things need to be tameable too. I mea...

Where was it? I ran through a chunk of the Maw, but I couldn't find any of the places listed on Petopia.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Hey Wain. HEY! Aqir Titanus, currently listed as unknown, is tameable. Keeps its name, and spawns during Black Empire assaults too. It's not limited to Aqir assaults in Uldum. Lemlia Luna found this out on the Secret Finders discord.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
I hate how the gargon look, but it's good that more mount models are tameable.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
Almost all the things I want to tame are quest mobs, since I like the name retaining stuff. Gonna be absolute hell for me.

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
While true for artifacts, that was (now) two expansions late. There's always got to be some exclusivity, even if said exclusivity is objectively bad.

Re: Shadowlands General Discussion
If you want one part of the covenant, no matter what it is, you need that covenant. Mounts, armor, whatever; you pick a covenant and you're stuck with it until you "betray" them for another covenant (which is stupid since you're not betraying anyone. You're helping EVERYONE. God awful writ...

Re: New SL Spirit Beast Intro Not Found
elekkwild_pink It's BASICALLY a spirit beast already, since it's imaginary and not even a real creature. Or, whip out the Windsteeds that were replaced by (objectively superior) bird horses. There's four tints of Windsteed, none are used, and they look unique enough to be spirit beasts out of the b...

I remember this on PTR, but when the prepatch hit, it couldn't be done anymore. Glad they brought it back, even if it makes no sense lol

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming
For the sake of humor, I actually did go through the whole list of name-retaining pets to see which ones had the longest names. There's 50 pets out of 778 with English names consisting of 20 or more characters in their names, including spaces and punctuation. I doubt this is worth a resource page or...

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming
I've updated my list above, found very cool things I think ^^, Lost Offspring of Gahz'ranka keeping its name is excellent for several reasons. The main one being that it's the longest name for a pet now! At 28 characters in its name, it beats the previous best at 26 with Siltstalker the Packmother....

Raigonn is still bugged, as are all the other intended tameables. You can find someone who's got that quest phase unlocked and party sync with them however. It's how I got mine.

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming
Agreed; every animal SHOULD keep its NPC name when tamed, unique or not. Mammoths and elekks are totally different creatures that only vaguely resemble one another, and it's pretty generic to call lions, tigers, cheetahs, lynxes, and sexy Batman villains "cat". I have a friend who has some...

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming
Found another that keeps its name; Hardknuckle Matriarch from Sholazar Basin, spawned during the quest "Tormenting the Softknuckles". It wasn't listed on any of the name pages. It's pretty cruel though; you bully her children and then force her to serve you. One of the most evil tames! EDI...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread
It wasn't painful, but it was tedious. Once the exp started showing as 100 per harvest (I had rested, obviously!), I was thinking "Oh hell, now the real game begins." Thankfully, it's not THAT bad; 33 nodes per circuit at 100 exp a pop is 3300 exp. It usually took a few circuits anyway, bu...

You crazy, crazy person! Thank you for testing this :D P.S. What are your levelling tips for anyone who wants to try this? Oh god I can't write a good guide to save my life. While my brain sort of putz'd out after finally leaving, I can at least say these; - Pick up Mining and Herbalism, herb and m...
