I can finally have my very own cat!

We went looking for an apartment, me, my bf and a buddy of ours, and I kept an eye out for places that would allow pets, and luck was it that the third apartment we looked at did indeed allow them, and that we got it. I picked the kitten I've been holding off for months at the place we used to live, refusing to give him up to someone else in case I could take him with me. Imagine my joy when I realized that I could.

We moved in yesterday, and had to drive 1.5 hours to get there, and the kitty handled that surprisingly well. He's eating, sleeping and shitting as normal, and that's good. He caught on to the scratch post rather quickly, and has a couple toys he brawls with. He mostly sleeps in the carrier cage, as that probably smells the most like "home", with the scents of the other cats he used to hang with.

He is 18 weeks today.


I'll have him neutered and chipped shortly, just need to plan it out so it won't crash with uni. Hopefully, I can get someone to drive me aswell.

Right now, he's running around with a yellow, squeaking toy mouse in his mouth.

He dropped the toy mouse, and is now playing with the laundry that is drying.. xD I need to record him on tape when I can, if he plays like that during the day. Right now it's too dark for the camera to pick it up. He gets a bit lonely at night I think, because I was woken up early this morning by a mewling kitten outside my bedroom door. We can't let him in our bedroom since bf is allergic, but despite that he still lets me have the kitty. <3

Aweee..... try getting her a few stuffed animals from a dollar store or something? Janie was with two other cats in the same room for a long time so we gave her the teddy bear to help her transition from a non-human social environment to a quiet uneventful human socialized environment. She personally doesnt like sleeping with people and would rather trample us when she wants to play (shes not a big cuddle-in-lap kitty) so she does quite well dozing away on a comfy surface away from us xD It might help Sparta get accustomed to sleeping away from actual bodies xD Maybe a heating pad underneath a blanket thats set on low if your willing to try that method would give him a comforting warmth to ease seperation (im sure he misses snuggling his siblings)

Yeah, I considered a stuffed animals. My mom uses to put one in her cats carrier cage when they travel by car, to make it less spacious for the cat, and so she can hold on to something when the ride gets bumpy.

Claws under your feet isn't the most comfortable sensation, especially not the toes. xD

I'll get up with him early in the mornings for as long as I need to, but god forbid I have to when/if I ever get a hangover.. xD

He can be very cuddly, when he wants to. He doesn't like being picked up though, but he can tolerate it.

I bought him a stuffed lion, and he hasn't quite learned to like it yet, but it's good for sleeping on, apparently.




I took him out on a leash today, and it started raining. He kept looking for dry places he could sit on/under so as not to get wet, but he didn't quite succeed, so it was a short trip. Here he is licking his wet fur. xD

This morning when I woke up, I stepped in a pool of vomit, and when I had cleaned that up (it had worms in it, ew), I went to refill his food and water and realized that he barely ate anything yesterday. He still hasn't eaten, and I reckon it's been probably 12-16 hours since he last ate. He drinks water, but that's it. I had him dewormed, to see if that helps. I also put some of the sause from some wetfood over on his dryfood to see if he'd eat that, but he only licked up the sause, leaving the food untouched.

I have an appointment at the vets tomorrow, to have him neutered, vaccinated and id-chipped, so I'll mention it then, but hopefully he will eat something before that. I'm worried. ><

Right, the boy is fine. It was simply the worms he had that made him sick yesterday, and he started eating like normal sometime during the evening. The vets appointment today also went good, and he is now a pair of balls poorer. He's been sleeping a lot since he came back home, and he's been very cuddly apart from that. He got his vaccines, and he got his id-chip. Here, have some pictures..
