I always think comparing RL with a fantasy game is usually a very nullified arguement....

Cow, people were comparing them to us, not to other fantasy trolls. Thats why I kinda said thats a nullified arguement.

So the female forest and ice trolls should look like their males because WoW is a realistic fantasy game but it really isn't?

I was not. just saying most female trolls look out of place.could of just given the male body boobs like the quilboars. They could of tryed to make the ice/forest troll females to like like the males.

No lovcat i did not say that.

And if we're talking realistically.. it is harder realistically for women to put on large amounts of muscle than men. Meaning without extra help with steroids, i doubt there would be some seriously bulky buff females.

So if working out naturally whilst fighting it would make sense that they would have long lean muscles.

Then again WoW does have r.o.i.d.s

No you see in wow the forest trolls are naturally ment to be that bulky females are too in the lore. Blizz just to lazy to make them bulky in game. Jungle trolls are ment to be skinny but forest/ice are not they are ment to be huge and bulky.

I think the objection is the /wildly different/ frame sizes/bone structures, which is fairly unusual in even warcraft's animal kingdom. If for example, you ripped the skelly out of a barrens lion and a lioness, they'd still look like the same species. But if you did that to a troll, you'd have to wonder if the female were outright deformed.

Or the male, I suppose.

A more extreme difference is teh draenei females vs males, who are literally half the size of their menfolk, but one could argue that's how all species were on Argus, you never know. The only thing Trolls have going for them in that respect is both males and females are still /lean/, just now you can mistake a female troll standing around in bad lighting for a nelf female, and that ... stupid.. waddle-run ... flkgdjlkgj

I had a female troll in alpha. She was awesome and ugly and I miss her. I've never played a female troll since.

I wouldn't say blizzard's too LAZY to make a female troll model for forest trolls/ice trolls/desert trolls/drunken trolls on a post, just that right now they have wildly different priorities. Like Cataclysm. We might see the females get altered in the future, re: these non-PC races of troll.

sand trolls are a subgroup of jungle ones so thats why they look like them
Ice trolls are a subgroup of forest ones hence they look like them.

I was kind of wtf when the patch that updated the male forest trolls did not update the females lol

Sorry i am a bit of a troll buff.

and for ..what, four, five years all trolls looked exactly like jungle trolls? ._. Baby steps! :D It's a very slow improvement but things are improving!

I really like the look of the alpha female trolls, they fit in so much better and i wish they'd return.

And yes, they SHOULD resemble their male counterparts, especially in bone structure.

As far as laziness for Blizz goes, it's a long list that should start at Female Taunka.

Always wondered about this. If you're going to go through all the hassle of editing the male tauren head/face to begin with to make a bison species, why not do the same for female tauren-to-taunka too?

I agree that the Alpha female trolls rocked, and sometimes I am a little weirded out by some of the VAST differences between males and females in the game. The Dranei especially, as somebody else mentioned, weird me out. The males are super bulky (so much so that I've never been able to play one, I just don't like that they're so...chunky). But the females look like toothpicks. It's just bizarre.

Even so, whenever I think about this, I then remember that...it's a video game. And when I say this, I do not intend to use the 'lol comparing fantasy to reality?!' argument that's already been repeated enough in this thread.

What I mean is....Blizzard is a company. They need to sell their wares. If making the female models prettier helps, and if pulling the spines back so their breasts stick forward more than is natural does it, and if making them less slouchy or less chunky or less beast-like works towards that too, then they'll do it. Much as I LOATH to say it, the female body sells.

You both have become immensely awesome in my mind. I love Oatmeal. Perhaps you'll like mylifeisaverage.com as well?

And to stay on topic....

Yeah. Velkyn is right. What sells sells, and that's what people buy.
