I can't stress how easy this addon made leveling archeology for me.
The profession can still put me to sleep but this has made those cat naps more infrequent.

Fishing, assuming you have done it in the other expansions, is TERRIBLE right now.. other than going down to get some eels when you need buff food, there's totally no reason to even bother fishing. Nothing new was added if you are already an accomplished fisher.

A few of the fish sell well, but herbing or mining is better.

I like it, but they've given us nothing to do with it. If you've done the Shat and Dal dailies before, there's nothing to get from the SW/Org dailies. Right now it's all for beginning fishermen. I've been checking El's Anglin and there's nothing showing up.

So once I finish leveling my cooking with a pile of eels, there's really nothing left to bother with fishing until I need more eels (or volatile water).

Kinda sad.. the Shat fishing dailies kept it interesting.

So I followed Kaliope's advice, and waited until almost 100 (98 worked out well as a stopping point as I was trying to go hit a spawn timer), and with all the fragments I had, I was able to level from 98 to 233 with solving and not using any tablets yet.

Also, I made a guess and solved everything except for the fossils first, to boost my skill, and then solved the fossils, and got the pet on the second solve. :-)

I've maxed fishing every time since vanilla. levelling it in Cata was no challenge, and in fact quite boredom inducing (outside of normal). I skin and mine, and those also were max in a matter of a day or two. Archeology at least while tedious at times is a "different" type of timesink for me. But yeah with Fishing, I just go look for eel pools whenever I get low on eels, and only do the cooking daily to get the marks for the new recipes even if I don't plan on ever making the foods.

If you're taking my posts 100% seriously, you're probably 150% too serious to read them.

I'll keep doing cooking until I get the high-seller recipies. No point for fishing though...

As well as Tome: Polymorph Turtle.

But still, the dailies are pretty useless once you are maxxed.

One trick I've learned is if you have a keystone try to complete the artifact before you finish your dig. This helped me get more fossil which lead to me getting the mount today.

Last night I found out that this profession is rather inconvenient at low levels. My level 25 Forsaken Warlock learned it and her first dig sites in Eastern Kingdoms are in Wetlands, Duskwood and Redridge Mountains. >>

There's no way I'll travel to Redridge on my slow ground mount. And since the dig sites won't reset until I searched them all, my Eastern Kingdom sites will remain untouched until I can reach them more easily, which probably won't be until level 60 when I can fly there. :|

Oh well, I guess I'll have to stick to Kalimdor then. The only zone there that can have dig sites but has no Horde flight points is Darkshore, and that's at least close enough to a flight point in Ashenvale. Although I didn't really plan on leveling this char on Kalimdor and going to a different continent just for arch is still not something I'm happy to do.

I haven't minded this profession so far. Taigi's only at about 200 skill points, but I really enjoy wandering around and finding items. I usually hop on a FP to get close to the dig site and then read a book until I arrive, too, so it's not a lot of mindless waiting-to-get-there.

Of course I didn't even REALIZE that there was a ton of stuff that could be gotten from Archaeology that was useful :P I never really read up on it at all beyond knowing there was a skeletal raptor mount. So I've really enjoyed just running around and finding neat little historical items (and one surprise fossil raptor hatchling).

I WOULD like to find some of the achievement items, but only because the Achieves imply there's story behind them, and I want to know those stories! :)

Any Arch I happen to do nowadays, is pretty much for this. If not for AH, I'll give them to friends instead. Wish I could donate fragments as well.
