You know, I was thinking the same thing... I think what's going on here is that TC has this bulky full-leg barding, which makes it look kind of stocky and short... and the effect is compounded by the fact that the "pauldrons" are pushed down below where the legs actually start, in order to make room for its wings... with the end result you described, e.g. it can feel like I'm riding a MLP.

Honestly I'm not ecstatic about Tyrael's Charger. It's nice to have on lowbie alts who otherwise don't have anything special to ride, and it's not like I'm paying anything extra for it, so it's a nice freebie, but that's about all I can say for it. :)

EDIT: what they should have done was tweak the armor at the base of the wings to double as pauldrons for the front legs, instead of having the front leg pauldrons appear as separate pieces - that area is too cramped for both to appear together. It's like the artist came up with a cool 2D image, but they didn't bother checking to see how well it would work in (moving) 3D...

don't know if it shrunk, but its the same height as the other horse models, compared it to all the stormwind horse mounts, and the two gilneas horses.

Tyrael's Charger is not shorter than other horses.

The reason it *seems to be* is because of how its barding is set up - the shoulder pieces are pushed partway down its legs to make room for its wings, making it look like it has short little legs.

It would be like if your character's pauldrons started midway down your arms instead of at your shoulders.
