Magnakilro's Guide to Glory of the Nathria Raider

Unread post by Magnakilro »

We like mounts. I like mounts. You like mounts. The Maw hates mounts, and therefore the Maw is invalid.

ANYWAY! We gots a raid Meta achievement...which means another mount that may barely be worth the effort (but we'll still try to get because its different enough)!

This time, we'll travel to the depths of Castle Nathria to complete the achievements within and earn us a mount: The Rampart Screecher...which is a Dredbat mount that uses the stone color and one of 3 dredbat mounts currently available (seemingly 4 next patch).

Let's get right to it!

---------------------------

1: Blind as a Bat: Get Shriekwing to kill 6 Sneaky Servitors then kill her.

Nice and easy. If you look around the outer edges of the room (including behind Shriekwing) you'll find little rocks on the ground. There's 6 in total and each is marking the location of a Sneaky Servitor. What you need to do is you need to use the Echolocation debuff to spawn a blood pool on top of the rocks to kill the Servitor. I believe ANY form of spawning blood works, but Echolocation is controllable. Once all 6 are dead, finish the fight as normal.

------------------------

2: Taking Care of Business: Walk Margore, Bargast and Hecutis along the walls of the room, visiting each corner. Then kill Altimor.

Easy enough! Just have the tank on his Gargons kite each one along the walls, visitting each corner, until the Gargon leaves a.....'present'. Once all three Gargons have left their....'presents'....you're clear to finish! Make sure the Gargon survives long enough to do its thing! Also remember that damage to Altimor is done to his Gargons too.

----------------------------

3: Feed the Beast: Drain all the Anima Canisters in the room with Volatile Ejection, then kill the Hungering Destroyer.

Another easy one! You just need to aim your Volatile Ejections at the large, obvious anima canisters on the outer edges of the room. Once all of em are empty, kill the boss.

---------------------------

4: I Don't Know What I Expected: Summon and defeat the Dark Animus, then defeat Darkvein.

In my opinion, this one's one of the harder ones. You need one person in the group that has the rare Son of the Animus mini pet from Throne of Thunder. Have that person summon their pet on pull. You must then wait 4 minutes while the pet gathers anima (the pet owner must survive the full timer too). At the end of the timer, the pet will become the Dark Animus boss from Throne of Thunder....WITH similar mechanics like interrupting casters or spawning a ring of orbs. You have like 1 minute I believe to dps this thing down before he reaches full anima and wipes you. Also keep in mind that you still need to kill Inerva too.

-----------------------------

5: Burning Bright: Light all 4 braziers in the room, then rescue Kael'thas.

A simple one. There are 4 braziers in the battlefield...one in each corner. Only the Shade of Kael'thas add can light them. Each Brazier has a name that hints at the ability that must be cast on it for it to light:

Fiery Brazier: Just have his current tank stand between this and the Shadfe and his Firey Strike will light it.

Blazing Brazier: On Normal difficulty, this is also all on the tank. Aim Blazing Surge at this Brazier.

Ember Brazier: Stack Ember Blast on top of it

Smoldering Brazier: Kill the Phoenix add on top of it.

Light all 4, then finish the fight as normal.

--------------------------------------

6: Private Stock: Return the Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Maw anima to their display cases then defeat Artificer Xy'mox.

This can be tricky. In the room preceding Xy'mox, you can see little orbs swirling around three of the objects. It doesn't matter WHO grabs them but people in the group need to grab them until each Loose Anima buff is somewhere in your party. Then start the fight.

A few seconds into the fight, the person with the Maldraxxus anima will lose it. The Anima will spawn as an orb in the middle of the room. If anyone runs near it, they will collect it and become permanently stunned until it can be dropped off. At that point, EVERYONE will be able to see a green circle on the outer edge of the battlefield. That's the drop-off point. You need to use the Dimensional Tear debuff to make a portal to get the stunned person to the drop-off zone, delivering the anima.

This is also the case for the Ardenweald anima (which occurs in p2) and the Maw anima (p3) with the only differences being that the drop off points are a different color and in a different spot.

A mage can cheese this by setting Alter Time on the drop-off points then grabbing the anima.

---------------------------------------

7: Pour Decision Making: Throw 4 bottles of wine, then defeat Council of Blood.

Easy peasy. There are friendly butler adds that arrive in specific spots around the battlefield. Just kinda keep an eye on the left (as if facing the boss's spawn point) or right edges of the room for them. You only get a few seconds to interact with them before they bail. When you interact with one, you'll throw a wine bottle. If this occurs a total of 4 times (doesn't matter who does it...just need to click 4 butlers), you'll earn the cheev on boss death.

---------------------------------------

8: Dirtflap's Revenge: Send Sludgefist into the pillars in the same order Dirtflap tells you, then defeat him.

Dirtflap is a friendly stonefiend npc found at the very end of the first hallway you walk through if going from the Shriekwing/Sludgefist boss room to Kael/Artificer/Council. Talk to him and he'll fly back to Sludgefist's room and sit on a pillar. You must get Sludgefist to charge into the pillar Dirtflap is sitting on. Once done, Dirtflap will sit on the next pillar he wants you to use. Repeat till all 4 pillars are destroyed. Then kill Sludgefist.

---------------------------------------------------

9: Feed Me, Seymour!: Defeat the Stone Legion Generals while all members of the raid are holding a Bouquet of Blooming Sanguine Roses.

Outside the boss arena, look to flowers on the right (as if facing the boss area) for a clickable object. Click it to receive a bouquet of Wilted Sanguine Roses. EVERYONE must get one. During the fight, when you enter either intermission phase (Kaal or Grashaal hit 50% hp), EVERYONE in the group must each grab one of the orbs that spawn around the area and hold it till your buff denoting that you're holding the Bouquet states that you are holding a Bouquet of Blooming Sanguine Roses. Once everyone's roses are blooming, finish the fight as normal. There is a hidden 10 minute timer on the Rose buff so keep that in mind.

---------------------------------------------------

10: Clear Conscience: Defeat Denathrius after removing all stacks of Burden of Sin from the raid prior to the intermission.

Everyone gets 4 stacks (5 on heroic) of Burden of Sin on pull. A stack is removed every time you are hit by Cleansing Pain. The trick is that if you are hit by Cleansing Pain without ANY stacks, you'll be 1 shot. You need to work out a strat that clears all 4 stacks for everyone while also getting the boss to 70% hp (triggering the intermission) before ppl get 1-shot. Once the intermission hits, the rest of the fight is unchanged.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And there you have it! Honestly this seems to be one of the easier ones to complete as none of the requirements are all that hard. The Animus one can be tough and working around the repositioned portals on Xy'mox can be tricky but nothing undoable!

Enjoy your bat!
