New yawning kitty?
So, I was playing around on a little Goblin Shaman in beta, and I was running by one of the many black panthers than are on the Isle, and I heard something. A panther yawned!
The panther had the yawn sound when he emoted his yawn! It's the sound that the Mounts make; not the riding tiger skin models sound like.
I was immediately very interested, so I got on my premade Goblin huntress and flew down to STV. I didn't think the normal panther models make yawn noises- so I went to check it out, but I kept crashing.
Could anyone go check the "normal" panthers that are not in the goblin starting area? I'm highly curious to know if that model now yawns as well!
I love yawning kitties!

Re: New yawning kitty?
As far as I know, all the previously silent cats have been given the Riding Tiger yawn on the beta.
Personally I'd prefer them silent over this, as I've always hated the slobbery yawn. <.<

I've never seemed to hear this 'slobbery' part of the saber cat yawns. They sound completely natural to me, I love that sound. ^^

Heh, I didn't either until I started playing in headphones... They do an icky slobbery headshake after every yawn. -.- What has been heard cannot be unheard.Vephriel wrote:I've never seemed to hear this 'slobbery' part of the saber cat yawns. :) They sound completely natural to me, I love that sound. ^^

That's totally awesome!!
And never fear, as I stated, the "normal" skin for the panther did not have the riding tiger yawn. He had the normal yawn like the night elf's mounts, and the lion skins have.
Personally I love both kinds, and I'm sooooo excited!! I love kitties that yawn! *bounces*

This. It's quite disturbing to say the least, and I'm not sure where the devs got the idea for it either as it's not a sound that great cats actually make - maybe wow sabertooths are meant to be part saint bernard?Golden wrote:Heh, I didn't either until I started playing in headphones... With the way the WoW sabers' jowls hang down, it doesn't surprise me that slobber flies everywhere when they shake their head. xP

Re: New yawning kitty?
Hmm, I went and listened closely again and I still don't really hear a major slobbery sound. I suppose it kind of could, but overall it just sounds like the end stretch of a big yawn. Oh well. ^^

Re: New yawning kitty?
I do hear the "slobbery" part people mention, but I've always thought of it as a result of the sabre licking his nose at the end of his yawn (I've seen my own kitties do that IRL). It doesn't sound slobbery to me personally, I really like it- and I like that we have two different sound files for yawns. Diversity is great!

Cats do lick their chops irl but it's silent.

Re: New yawning kitty?
Ugh, the slobbery cat yawn is the only pet noise that annoys me. I don't mind crocs growling, stomping of bigger pets, and birds screeching, but that RAWYAAAWWWNNSLOBSLOBLAH. e.e

I'm ... not a fan of the yawn, but it is nice to see more options for the peeps who like it.

Quick! Someone fetch me a house cat, a leopard and a bengal tiger so that we may have a proper comparison irl!Taluwen wrote:they're also a lot smaller than the sabers in the game. XDWorba wrote:Cats do lick their chops irl but it's silent.

Re: New yawning kitty?
Not great cats (whose choplicking is just as quiet as their smaller cousins - the only thing that gets louder is... you guessed it! Their roar). XDTaluwen wrote:they're also a lot smaller than the sabers in the game. XDWorba wrote:Cats do lick their chops irl but it's silent.
