Added Note - Kibler's Bits/Mammoth Treats

Unread post by Albain »

These no longer alter your stats. I don't know if anyone noted that previously. Kibler's bits are now a 'increase pet happiness' (ie food), and mammoth treats are a very tiny HoT.

Well, that's sort of nice to know. At least it'll mean I don't have to spend frantic Saturday mornings farming mammoth meat to make sure I have pet stat food for my 10-man raid.

This is upsetting. What's the point of using them at all if not for the well fed buff? If you need heals and happines, glyphed Mend is your answer. I carry meat and bread at all times as pet foods since I can use them as well, but having pet-only food with no benefit seems useless.

I would have to agree with you. Not only that, I actually like spending the time to mat gather and cook up a little something special to boost the stats of my pets. :(

This change is due to Pets scaling largely off of our stats... If they got this buff as well it would be the equivalent to double dipping in the buff pool.

This news is a real let-down... I liked that added touch of a pet only buff. I will miss this a lot.

As Gimlion noted, the trade-off for this is pets scaling properly with our own consumable buffs.

The trade-off on this still makes me sad. It might've been double-dipping, but I liked the 'small buff' these things gave! It made me feel like a *real* hunter to be self-buffing my pet rather than just me. :( If I have to have one or the other, I'd much rather have the scaling to my buffs, but... *still*!
Come see Kurasu's stables!

Good riddance I say. It always annoyed me to have to farm mats for a very small buff for a very small part of my DPS.

I also exist on DeviantArt.

Same here as well.

Good thing is scrolls still work on your pets. I use agi scrolls now during raids.

Do they? I thought they weren't supposed to, but I didn't try.

Scrolls don't work on pets anymore (though that was a fairly recent change in the beta).

While I'll miss the little buff, it'll be nice to be able to cook food that any pet can eat.
