Wait - in your second shot it says "You have too many pets already". Were all 5 of your active slots filled up when you tried that...?

Actually, it does say "you have too many pets already" in one of the screenshots. In the last shot methinks.

Oh, lol. Yeah, I tame beasted, didn't work, beast lored, they were tameable, abandoned pet then tamed one. Before when I met the little group, they were untameable. This time I went looking for them cause Kalliope said they were tameable :D this thread: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12783

Found these guys about 5 different times now, they've always been untameable..is there a trick or something? Can someone who's done it please clarify how or where the tameable ones are?

Mine were just running all over the place. See my screenshot for where I tamed them and maybe try camping there? Dont really remember where I found the untameable ones but Im pretty sure they spawned after I killed a spider.. The other ones (tameable) I just found running already

I have yet to see them. How often do they spawn? They aren't rare, are they? As in silver dragon around the picture rare?

While this feature of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide wasn't exactly intended... - it will still be possible in future for everyone who wishes to tame this NPC to do so

I honestly find Kirix easier to obtain than these little guys. ;) But if you do find them, the tame is simple. :)

Honestly, these little guys are incredibly hard to find, so I still consider Kirix to be pretty unique. :) Even if it's not technically so. ;)

I watched the green ones spawn from the Hyjal Scout NPC. He runs up, stops and say> "I don't feel so good..." Then drops dead and spawns about 6 of the little green spider. Those aren't tamable and they don't move away from his body. They also despawn after maybe a minute. I still haven't seen the roaming pack yet...

These little guys?

The pic is from live server and I ran into a pack of them immediately after entering the spire. o.O I'm sorry for not being able to give any more info on them, but I can confirm they're still tameable on live.

53753 I believe is the NPC ID for the tameable ones.

I haven't cached it yet. :(

Is it possible that they're phased? Maybe after doing some quests from Malfurion? Or maybe they appear only for a daily quest?
