Yeah, they're STILL coming atm, probably near the hundredth pack by now. I don't see any other rares up, though, and Karkin's gone now. This really is a puzzle...

The Clutchkeepers (or whatever they're called) are still gone; the Hyjal Scout's pack is up and hasn't affected the tameable Broodlings' spawn/patrol.

Wouldn't it be something if these only spawned once a day, and when killed don't respawn till the next?

Yeah, the only thing we figured out was that the clutchkeepers and broodlings shared some sort of spawn. We just couldn't figure out why. x_x I'm still thinking it's related to a quest we can't see yet.

Yeah, I've been considering killing them to see if it stops them. I guess now's the time >.> I hate doing it though.

Edit--nope, killed some & the spawns are still going. Thank god--if I'd confirmed I was debating just not saying anything to prevent griefing >.>

They have teeny tiny legs! :(

(I would say cold wet noses, but I don't think spiders technically have those...)

So once they spawn, they spawn several more times? I've been terrified if I'm not fast enough and they despawn on me, I'm SOL til the next day.

Edit; My server resets at 1 am California/Washington/Oregon etc time; luckily for me, I live in Cali so I'm synched with them. Whoo!

Well, mine was tamed when they spawned the first time (as the server's dailies reset). Then, no more turned up at *all.*

Today, there are multiple spawns--in fact, they're still going.

...Perhaps they swarm until one is tamed? O.o

Nah, we had continued spawns after taming groups of them. It seemed very inconsistent. x_x

When they reach the nest to despawn;

A] We ARE talking about that dipped in part in the middle, with the 2 or 3 yellow spiders right?
B] Do the despawn the moment they reach it, or do they sit there for a few moments (so my slow @$$ can start taming)?

Yes, and they do stop for a moment. About five or ten seconds, I'd guess. Your best bet if you want to be ABSOLUTELY certain you'll catch one is to clear the yellow-colored spiders from the nest region and lay an Ice or Freezing trap to make sure to aggro one before they despawn.

Re: Green firespider question

after reading this post i made the following observations:

1) i just added the npc id for these guys to my npcscan (which i have not cleared for the last few days since it keeps going off constantly with the new rares) and i did NOT have them cached already.

2) if they had spawned on my server, i would definitely have had them cached as i spent some very very very long hours in the molten front camping deth

3) my server has not yet had the wisp away daily

this seems to further support the connection, no?

I'm going to RAGE, I keep replying to two different threads about this, and forgetting which I was using >.>

Today we have them spawning again--nonstop, in fact--and again, our realm has the Wisp quest.

I'm ready to start flinging handfuls of molten whatever at walls right now; that's a really great idea, Acher. Thanks!

Got WISP AWAY for the first time... and for the first time, the clutchkeepers did NOT despawn upon server reset.

I died a little.

Mmmaky, So, yesterday was my first day in the Molten Front. [Yay me. I'm slow.] Anyway. All I found out yesterday were the Clutchkeepers. No small tiny spiders aside from the random group of untamables. Boo.

I'm nocturnal so it wasn't a problem for me to check when the server reset and guess who greeted me when I got over to the nest...
The Broodlings. Running amok all around the place and no Clutchkeepers. I actually wasn't looking at the ground, rather I was looking towards Deth's hang out instead and caught something skittering out of the corner of my eye. For a second there I was like 'Wait a minute. HEY. Come back here you!'
Image

I was so excited to have my green spider I totally forgot to check the dailies before coming back to Org. Aha.

Edit: Went back to check the dailies for ya guys.

[LAWL. On my way back from getting the dailies written up for you guys......I found a fire turtle. It's a good taming week!]

So we can cross out Wisp Away as having anything to do with the spawns.

I'm starting to think there is a daily attached to the Clutchkeepers that we just can't access yet, rather then it being on the Broodlings.
