i tamed deth'tilac by kiteing him around and sending my pet at him so he can cast death strike which will1 shot ur pet but will cause deth 10% of his health every time he cast it and deth moves reallly slow at first and picks up speed as u get closer to tameing him and he is tamable at about 20% health

Another good thing is, if your just camping Deth, tame as many temporary spider pets as you can. I tamed 3 and it helped alot! Each deth takes off 10% of her health from what I saw, and with temp pets its easier to just release then revive. Just have to hit it as soon as it dies and call out another temp pet, send it in and continue that while still kiting with traps and any slow aka concussive shot or if your MM and have conussive barrage, chimera shot and multi shot. So if you have 5 temp spiders pets, that'll get her down to 50% fast, then just kite and revive the last pet until 20% then release and tame away. :)

seeing as i am lazy i just hired a person nearby to sacrifice himself along with a guildie i would find it to stressful to go kite it seeing as that takes long and it can be stolen then.

Druids do work. We tried to hold her a bit for someone and man, can roots hold 'er. >> They hold Solix too. That said, I'm just being a naked draenei sacrifice.

I had the help of two lovely hunters putting frost traps down when I tamed Deth. I used the petabandon macro: I had 3 spiders, and when Deth cast deathstrike on one, I pressed it just as cast ended, so didn't have to revive them. But I did have to revive the last one three times. It wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy either. I really appreciated the help I got <3

Tactic's I've seen so far are....

Loads of players just nuking it

Groups thinking its a world boss, killing and then complaining where's all the loot?

Hunters getting the boss low, only for other hunters to kill it out of spite.

and repeat

My Mom is a druid and we stumbled upon Dethy. After throwing ourselves at him like morons and trying about a million different theories (on a PVP server no less) we found the easiest way was for her to spam roots on it, and for me to cycle through throwing Ice trap and snake trap at him, using a temp spider pet's web on it, send it in as a sacrifice, more traps while rezzing the temp spider, webs, sacrifice, rinse and repeat. It took about 20 minutes counting our pointless deaths. He will strike at the snakes and at the temp pet. You just have to stay calm and cycle through the two traps and rezzing your pet after using it's webs and sending it in to die. Once we got the routine down, it was easy. Although my Mom was on the phone complaining about her finger wearing out from spamming roots :).

So to put it in numbered steps:
1.) Find Dethy
2.) Freak out that you found Dethy!
3.) Find a Druid friend willing to help.
4.) Have Druid friend put roots on him... and keep roots on him under penalty of Dethy Death.
5.) Throw Snake Trap and Ice Trap in right under him.
6.) Hit your Spider pet's Webs.
7.) Send Spider pet in to die.
8.) Refresh your traps.
9.) Rez your Spider pet.
10.) Repeat steps 6 through 9 until Dethy's Molten Fury buff disappears.
11.) Tame Dethy!
12.) Do a happy dance!

I hope that helps someone get Deth'tilac for themselves!

Seriously-- if you can find a druid to help, the roots technique is FABULOUS -- takes almost no time, and it works so nicely!!!

Good luck on getting your spider! :D

I had the help of a mage and at the very very end a hunter came in and threw out a CS while I was taming. Mostly, being in survival spec I didn't have issues with the sacrificing pet method. My mage friend came in at 60% or so, so I had it down pretty well using concussive shot and ice traps with entrapment as a helpful added bonus. Once she got there, it made it easier to rez my pet cause she would pull aggro off of me. And as a mage, they know their limits pretty well and allowed Deth to nearly corner them before they blinked away... so we never even had to kite Deth out of his spawn location, we just made him go back and forth. It went very smoothly, and I abandoned my dead spider trash pet before I hit tame. A druid would probably be better, but I ended up with a mage because they were they only one in my guild that would help (not to mention the fact they helped me once before but we failed at the end when someone came in and stole the aggro) I don't really always trust other people outside of my guild because people have been known to ruin that tame in the past. I was lucky that the hunter that came by at then end already had Deth and offered to help when Deth got too close to me during the tame with one concussive shot. Honestly, I am not complaining that I had a mage over a druid, it all worked out in the end. :D

My strat

Sasrei
Tame 4 trash spiders, use them all.
Have entrapment specced.
Forget about the four trash spiders and only use two
Solo tame ftw (entrapment rocks)

Saon
Fall asleep
Wake up cause you know its up and you cant sleep
Log on to see everyone there.
Freak out and have guildies do most of the work

Reika
Be on crap computer
Die mutliple times because of crap computer
Beg guildies for help
have some strangers help to

Id say if you have a druid friend, use him :) helps sooo much
if you have the room tame extra trash spiders, its much faster then release then to revive.
Take a deep breathe and watch your space, if hes to close move away dont finish casting revive pet.
If you can use surv spec for entrapment, the extra root is amazing!!

Have a survival hunter friend who is spec'd into entrapment!

Ive helped plenty of people tame Deth, by just telling them to kite the spider, and I'll handle the rest. (Trapping, Stunning, Re-summoning pet to send in and wittle health down.) The tamer doesnt even really need to do anything. I have pretty much handled their tame for them as they kite. =P
