Hunter Pets

Unread post by Takanuka »

I hope they seperate the serpent family from serpent and arcane serpent.

Edited the expect out to "want".

This is just my wish but the outlands (unrelated to the bug water strider aliens) should be in it's own family and have a slowing casted ability it has defaultly as a normal npc called (Lightning Tether).

Skeletal Pets (Goes like the skeletal eagle)
  • Skeletal Raptor
  • skeletal Wind serpent
Serpent
  • Snake
Arcane Serpent
  • Arcane Wyrm
  • Mana Wyrm
New Core Hounds
  • Void Terror
New Silithids
  • Sand Reaver
New Dogs
  • Alterac Brew Hound
  • Undead Hound (Like the mini bosses in ICC since we got skeletal eagles)
New Worms
  • Sand Worm
Flayer
  • Since they are "Humanoid" but don't talk or have any intelligence and already got a neat ability "Flay".
Nerubians (Currently in Borean Tundra as undeads but could work.)
  • Nerubian Flyers
  • Nerubian Crawler

Personally I don't expect any of your list to be tamable and pretty much all of it I can guarantee won't be. They will probably expand on the families yes.
None of the dinosaurs or cloud serpents or other mounts are even being rumored as tamable.
Granted it's alpha right now but I wouldn't expect anything beyond just different colors or more of the same things we have already.

I wouldn't say I'm expecting any of these, but out of the listed I'd particularly love the pterrorwings, mushan, and nerubians (specifically for the cute flying ones!)

None of the above, since you left out literally everything from my signature, haha xD

EDIT: Well, some of the bosses would be pretty cool. But not as new families.

Avatar made by the awesome LupisDarkmoon. Tameable giraffes please!

Haha, same... and for the same reason. Hoofed mammals / ungulates are what I've been hoping for since WOTLK. So if you'd put an "other - please explain in comments" then I guess I would've picked that.

Mushan could probably fit in with rhino (but I'd also put clefthooves in there).

Bosses should go under whatever family might be applicable - i.e. Tortos would be a turtle, Thok a devilsaur

Cloud Serpents need to be properly relisted as dragons. Nerubians are nearly humanoid IMO (not in appearance but in intelligence) so that would be out.

Agreed wholeheartedly! I'd love to see either of these! Plus the old world style rams!

There's two kinds of nerubians that seem beast-like, the skitterer/spiderling and the fliers. I wants both! There's some non-undead ones flying or skittering around when cata changed the dungeons quests, so there's a hook for us to be able to tame some. I wouldn't mind if they were tacked onto silithid even. They're so much more awesome looking than the silithid models. Go ahead and toss Kuchong in with those, since they're more beast-like than the silithid brain-bugs.

For bosses, I don't think all of the ones listed need to be tameable. Too much armor on some of them. But Tortos would make a great spirit beast, maybe not tamed as a boss, but the model found elsewhere.

And pterodactyls. They're just too awesome not to be pets, especially since there's recent models. Unfortunately, I don't think a hook for pterodactyls native to Draenor.

I second this! I'd also still love to see mana wyrmlings someday, but that's just me. ;)

My votes are going to Diemetradons, Pterrorwings/Pterrordaxs, Wyverns, and Expanding Existing Pet Families. I'd also like to cast my fifth vote for Frogs/Toads since neither were mentioned in the poll.

• Diemetradons and Pterrodaxs are a perfect addition to Devilsaurs, Direhorns, and Raptors. It wouldn't make much sense to not have them tamable at some point.
• I've always wanted a Wyvern (I'm including Hippogryphs and Gryphons when I say this), but it's been argued over and over again that such creatures are too sentient for hunter companionship. Still, I'll always find myself reserving a bit of stable space just in case Blizzard should ever change their minds on this.
• Expanding on existing pet families is always a favorable choice, especially when it comes to updating their models. Now that some of our characters are getting a much deserved "facelift", those old vanilla pets are going to seem extremely out-of-place standing beside them.
