Anyone know what the story is on the fire pet or flame pet

That was a cosmetic glitched raptor. A few weeks after it was discovered Bliz hotfixed them back to normal raptors.

After the fix it appeared as a normal raptor in your stable. I had it and it was fun while it lasted You can't repeat the tame anymore. In the end I released the normal raptor, was no point in keeping it.

Blizzard removed it because it was impossible to target it, thus it was considered an exploit for PvP.

Yeah it was fun while we had it (I never PVPed with it, but it was good for griefing my raid team since all the melee kept running away from it, and we had multiple hunters with it), but I knew that they wouldn't let us keep it, so I wasn't surprised or overly upset when I logged in to see a raptor. Once it got reverted most people released them.

I had one too and freaked out guild mates by making it chase them around XD was so fun, I was sad to see it reverted to a raptor again but I expected it.

Yea i remember these. they where fun for a wile but we all knew that we would not be able to keep them. As cool as these where they where no near as cool as the worgans we use to be able to tame.

For me, that was the only time a pet removal really Hurt. The savage worgen was -the- pet that was in every way "perfect" for my hunter.

The fire pet was fun, but we all knew it would be removed, but was still fun to play with it while we could.

I don't know. The whole thing creeped me out because of the idea of enslaving a humanoid style critter. But that is a personal thing and I understand why people think it was cool. If that's the one you mean. But I agree that it is a bummer, even if we know why the pets get pulled (we were so close to getting that darn spirit wolf for a friend - we just couldn't afford the particular metagem).

Oh, please. It was reported on Petopia and of course everyone ran around with it. Numerous hunters reported it because they knew it was a glitch and a pretty ridiculous one. It was inevitable, there's no one to blame.

Like I said above, you could NOT target it, no matter what. So in PvP it was an exploit because you could sick your pet on another player and there was no way for them to retaliate.

lol u shoulda been on deathwing, both horde and alliance got them and ran about in bgs/towns with them all day.
