I am so glad I decided to come to visit the Petopia forums today. I did not know this happened. I almost took my Oil-stained Wolf. I should keep him in the stables.

My buddy did the arenas with her baby direhorn, in the call slot, and it poofed from her call pet slot, having spoke to another hunter, but couldn't confirm from anyone else who had done timewalking and/or arena with their direhorn baby if it poofed, perhaps this would fall in the same line as this regarding the baby direhorn as it does with oil wolf, lone hunter, flame porker...

I have taken Baby to many Timewalkings, I'm not sure what this "poof" is. :|

ok my apologies then I guess, having not owned a direhorn babe I really dunno... just wanted to pass along in case it did 'poof' when used in timewalking/arena, but having just done skirmish with a baby, it was still there during, and after... was just trying to help others was all.

In case anyone is curious, I took my bobblehead puppy (Hati illusion) and the Firelands' Shaman hall scorpion into Timewalking. Both came back out with the same looks :D

Had a minor scare. In TW Nexus, my puppy Hati got sheeped and became a huge sheep, when the polymorph ended, Hati looked like a normal (although giant) Hati again, dismissing/re-summoning my pet, Hati came back as puppy Hati again. Could just have been a visual glitch on my client.

Sorry for the necro post but i need to warn others about something that shockingly happened to my flaming boar.

Long story short i was logged in under a thunderlizard when it did its thunderstomp and snuffed Habenjero like a candle in the wind. Rabano had him since lvl 10.

If using visual pets for hunting with be careful, i dont know why it snuffed him out and of course GMs cant or whatever restore him. :x

I used my Lone Hunter with the blade still stuck in his head while doing Headless Horseman runs on my alts and when i zoned out of the dungeon he had lost his sword. :(

Is this still an issue? Checking whether I can unsticky it.

I guess it's hard to confirm without someone deliberately (or accidentally) losing a special effect pet, but my assumption would be that this is an issue that will always be there, it seems like Timewalking dungeons have a functionality similar to PvP arenas where the game automatically clears buffs when you go in, and I don't expect them to change that functionality.

But again, can't confirm for sure (I've never risked bringing my lone effect pet out in the world, he lives in my stables haha)

Yes - I apply buffs to a pet and test and I can confirm that Timewalking and Arenas still clear buffed pets. Also, for some reason, occasionally a Yogg-Saron fight.

Its been years since i last talked on here, idk if this is the right forum either. but since its now dragonflight - is my retired pets like both the green, red maggot pets safe to do anything like normal, heroic, mythic,m+ for dungeon, raids, timewalking? i havent really been brave to do any of those other than grinding quests atm in fear of losing them.

To my knowledge those types of pets should be safe. Pets aren't deleted entirely or go missing, it's the special effects or any sort of buff which gets wiped/reset. Neither of these pets have that, but for example I have a crocolisk from MoP that I tamed which kept the black smokey sha effect, I never really take it out anywhere because underneath the sha look is a regular croc, which is what it would be reset to if I encountered something that removed it.
