They could INSTEAD just remove the Essence Swapper altogether, and give us an ability to swap out Hati with one of our stabled pets once we hit 110. That would remove the skin swap problem, Hati nameplate, AND lightning effect, which I know would make many of us happy. I've always wanted to be able to run around with two of my pets that I've actually bonded with. Replacing Hati's skin with one of mine was a bearable fix, but honestly the perma-Hati name and lightning effect kills the feel of it being the original. ^^;
Just my opinion though.
This is an excellent idea. However, maybe I am just being paranoid, but my gut is telling me it will be completely removed. Which is why I've not even started the BM artifact quest line to get to 110. I don't enjoy getting attached to something only to have it taken away. Which I am fairly certain a fix is coming.
As Kalliope said this was added for player enjoyment. So it won't be class breaking to remove it. But that's my speculation.
They'll likely just reset all Hati to the base skin and make the Essence Swapper useable not in combat, and not copy temporary skins.
It's really a simple fix, to be honest.
If not for some of the skins (Dwarf, Invisi-hati, Forsaken), they'd probably let us keep the skins. But manually finding ALL of the ones they consider not okay would be rather difficult. A blanket reset of all Hatis SHOULD be rather simple, depending on how they coded it. I'm sure they expected bugs like this with the Essence Swapper and coded a way to reset Hati for everyone in one swoop if necessary.

Most people suggest realm hopping. Apparently there's a set amount of them that spawn per realm every hour. So naturally if another hunter has killed all of the ones on your realm that hour, no more will spawn until the next hour.

Unlucky it is then! Thanks. x_x
They only spawn during the early morning or "day cycle" of the server. I can confirm. Went there at night and couldn't find anything, went at close to noon (server & local time) and they were up.

I'm trying the Bloodmoon worgen too, and I haven't gotten a single application in the 20-30 minutes I've been here. Only possible way I can think of is getting a pet to transform and immediately dismissing it at a low level to "preserve" it, then only take it out again at 110 to swap over the buff.
I remember time-walking sometimes making a pet display a lower level, not sure if it makes it that way mechanically, though.
How did you get your berserker so big? Mine comes out half size of my character after tame.
I'm not sure, I just used the swapper as soon as my pet was transformed. I believe I was using a rylak as the curse dummy, or one of the robot wolves. It came out this size and has remained this size.

Unconfirmed; I found them up for Kalli at night.
...I cannot believe the Budd-Hati swap worked. That's amazing!
This is a slim chance but during the Silverpine questline, you have deathstalker commander Belmont and valkyr as guardians for some quests, including the risen Gilnean folk. Would swapping them work?
This doesn't seem to be working. I'm able to use items from my bags, but not the Essence Swapper - it gives me the "Out of range" error message, but when I get the pet close enough, the item doesn't start channeling at all. It looks like the Fel Reaver is also considered a 'minion' instead of a 'pet' so I don't think there's any way to get this one to work.

That's odd, then.. every time I've gone early in the morning I've found them but never at night. What time were you there? Was it after midnight?

You just have to keep checking back there every half-hour or so.
Since there's size issues and whatnot, has anyone tried massive pets, like Hozzer (Polar Bear, Howling Fjord) and Terrokarrantula (red spider, Terrokar Forest)? Would they grow huge, or just be average?
I don't want to redo the fleshbeast from Sunwell, so I can't test these myself.
